For our card in Crafty Creations this afternoon, I took my inspiration from a set of cards I found on Pinterest some time ago.

I did add a couple more layers – Soft Sky & Early Espresso.  The ladies loved how a simple little card could have such a huge impact.

I also love how I can reuse some of my favourite stamp sets which have now retired & “Fine Feathers” being one of them.

We used the Emboss Resist Technique to create our card.

76. Fine Feathers – Thinking of You

I was at a loss the other day & while browsing through the new catalogue, a card from Page 104 jumped out at me.  Why?  I don’t really know but I loved the simple look of the finished card & thought it was a quick easy 5 or 10 minute card.

I decided to go with the same colours or near to the colours as I think – Crumb Cake, Pool Party & Soft Suede to create my card.  I have slowly been going through my room & tiding up things, sorting, tossing, etc & come across a heap of Textured 12 x 12 card stock – Perfect way to use it all!

I also used a Hostess Set from the new Catalogue – Best Thoughts.

As the Butterfly Die was not available in our pre-order selection, I pulled out one that I’ve had for years & before SU!

I will admit this is not a set that has seen much ink, but hopefully in the next 12 months, it will be a set that is inked more regularly & won’t gather dust sitting on the shelf.

Don’t forget the catalogue is fantastic for inspiration & “casing”.  It helps to motivate you to get your creative juices going again.

73. Six-Sided Sampler – You’re in My Thoughts

I had a bit of a play with  friend of mine the other day & decided that we would play with the great Technique – Background Wash but with a twist!

As I hadn’t had a couple of my favourite sets out for awhile, I thought it was time for “By the Seaside” & “By the Tide” left the shelves & were once again used to create a card.  Don’t forget, “By the Seashore” will be retiring at the end of the month & will no longer be available.

I carried the theme through to the inside of the card by stamping the coral image onto a piece of Whisper White Card in Crumb Cake Ink & then stamped a shell image in Calypso Coral.

67. By the Tide – Thinking of You

At our Crafty Creations Class this arvo, we did a lot of Sponging & Heat Embossing to create our card.

Much to the dismay of some of the ladies, I then informed them that they had to cut the embossed piece into 4 equal parts.  Well, the look on their faces was “SHOCK”, but I talked them around.

This gorgeous set – Blooming with Kindness – is retiring at the end of the month which means you only have a couple of weeks left to purchase it.

 68. Thinking of You

I had to create a card for a friend who lost her friend through cancer the other day!

As I liked the challenge over at Tuesday Morning Sketches I decided to play along.  I also decided to use the Colour Challenge over at a new challenge site I found – Nacho Average Challenges. Both these challenges seemed to work in perfectly for what I had in mind & much to my surprise the card come together easier than I thought it was going to.

It was also the perfect time to use up some of my 2013-2015 In Colours which will be retiring at the end of the month.  Crisp Cantaloupe & Baked Brown Sugar are just 2 of the colours I will miss, but hey there are more fantastic colours coming our way 2 June.  “Blooming with Kindness” is retiring at the end of the month too, so it was the perfect time to showcase what can be created using this lovely stamp set.
