Simple & Elegant Sympathy Card | Little Ones Essentials Collection

G’Day Crafty Friends,

When it comes to sympathy cards, I think simple is often best.  A soft, understated design can say so much without needing lots of embellishments or complicated techniques.

For today’s card, I’ve combined soft pastel greens and warm browns, pretty patterned paper, delicate floral cut-outs from the Little Ones Essentials Paper Collection along with the Heirloom – Flowers Snippets Sheet.  A few pearls for a touch of elegance completes the card for a gentle, peaceful feel that is perfect for expressing heartfelt sympathy.

The beauty of this card is just how easy it is to put together.  There are only a few key elements, so it’s a great design to have on hand when you need to make a sympathy card quickly.

One of my favourite things about this card is that the basic layout can easily be repeated.

You can change the patterned paper, swap the flowers for different shapes or use another soft colour combination while keeping the same basic design.  It would work beautifully all occasions cards.

It’s also a great way to use up those little scraps of patterned paper and leftover die-cuts that seem to accumulate in our craft supplies!

Simple.  Elegant.  Easy to make — and easy to recreate.

G’Day Crafty Friends,

It’s Digi Choosday time!

Our theme this week is to create a “Christmas project with a closure of some sort“.  I’m loving the themes we’re giving for our projects each month.  Are you?  I sure hope they are giving you heaps of ideas for your projectrs.

I’ve created a fun, yet festive card with non-traditional Christmas colours.  The pre-coloured Pretty Poinsettia Flower Holly Digital Stamp has been fussy cut prior to adhering to the card front with Foam Tape.  The Sentiment is from the same download – Don’t you love it when the sentiment and image are paired for you?

The paper is from the Theo Penguin Paper Bundle 3 which I think suits the card perfectly.  The interactive latch adds a playful touch, allowing the card to open and close!

Simple Stories Simple Vintage Timeless Harmony Collection | The Scrap Room

G’Day Crafty Friends,

I’ve been having so much fun creating more 6×8 scrapbook pages using the beautiful Simple Vintage Timeless Harmony Collection from Simple Stories.

This time, I wanted to mix things up a little by adding a pocket page alongside my traditional layouts.  Pocket pages are such a great way to include all those little pieces of everyday life that don’t always fit neatly onto a scrapbook page — photos, tickets, tags, receipts, journaling cards and other bits of memorabilia, without adding too much bulk to the album.

I love how the smaller 6×8 format makes it easy to tell a story without needing to fill an entire 12×12 page.  The Simple Vintage Timeless Harmony Collection has such a lovely, timeless feel, with its soft colours, pretty patterns and vintage-inspired details, making it perfect for documenting memories and little moments.

This page was actually inspired by the Journal Bits which are part of the Collection.

Welcome Baby | Little Ones Essentials Paper Collection

G’Day Crafty Friends,

I have a sweet little baby card to share with you using the Little Ones Essentials Paper Collection by Unmistakeable Creations.  The papers & images are simple gorgeous with a little antique look about them.

I kept the design simple and soft, using the die cuts that I’ve fussy cut with scissors, to create a little cluster on the front of the card.  The beautiful neutral colours and sweet baby elements make this collection perfect for creating a card suitable for both boys and girls.

Sometimes the simplest cards are the sweetest!  A few layers, a handful of little die cuts and a touch of dimension were all that was needed to create this adorable baby card.

The card was completed by randomly scattering Clear Crystal Mix to the card front.

The Paper Funday Challenge | Sketch Layout

G’Day Friends,

It’s time for another fun Paper Funday Challenge, and this time there’s a creative twist — we’re working with a sketch layout!   This month the challenge is sponsored by Lawn Fawn & Brass & Bliss.

I had so much fun playing along with the sketch using the Uniquely Creative Wings & Wheels Card Collection.  I loved bringing the design to life and adding my own creative spin while following the sketch as a guide.

Seeing as though Father’s Day is this weekend, I thought it the perfect card to send off to my Dad.
