Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop

Heya Stampers,

Welcome to the Global Stamping Friends Bloghop – a group of Demonstrators from all logoaround the world.  You have arrived from Kimberley’s blog.

Each month there is a different them & this month, the focus is on the Kids.

I actually created this card a couple of weeks ago when I first received the lovely “Magical Mermaid” Stamp Set which I think is perfect for girls.  So many ideas, so little time!

I wanted to try & use the set a little different while at the same time, create a different fold.  It is very simple but with all the Whisper White I think it is quiet effective.

Magical-Mermaid---Close-UpTo create my Base Card – Bermuda Bay, I scored & folded it in half but cut about an inch from the right hand side so that I could continue the “ocean” on the side of the card & the mermaid overlapping a little.

To create my background – I used the Block Stamping Technique by swiping Bermuda Bay Ink onto a block & stamping onto a piece of Whisper White Card.  The seaweed was stamped in Pear Pizzazz Ink & the seashells with Sahara Sand.  I embossed the piece using the Ruffed Dynamic EF & adhered it to the Base Card.

The mermaid was stamped onto Whisper White with Early Espresso, coloured with the Watercolour Pencils, blended with the Blender Pen before being fussy cutting & adhering to the front with Stampin’ Magical-Mermaid---InsideDimensionals.

For the inside, I masked off a piece of Whisper White on the left hand side, repeated the same process as I did for the front so that the “ocean” continued across the card & the adhered it to the inside of the Base Card.

I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of Whisper White in Early Espresso, fussy cut it & adhered it to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To complete the card, I randomly scattered small Rhinestone Basic Pearls so that they looked like bubbles.

I do hope you have enjoyed my card.  I am hoping to post a tutorial later on in the week.

  1. I love a fancy fold! Your mermaid card is gorgeous and the rhinestones are the perfect finishing touch. I know exactly what you mean about “so many ideas, so little time”!

  2. WOW this is just so beautiful, the Mermaid is not in my stash!!! I do love the ruffled embossing front of the card <3 The colours that you have used are stunning…
    Thanks for Sharing Cheers Shaz

  3. Lovely card and I really like the card not fully folding on itself and the fussy cutting of the sentiment really works. Thank you for taking part.

  4. Vicky this stamp set was not even on my radar but your gorgeous creation is making me take another look – stop it please!

  5. I’m really loving that mermaid…I’d love to see what the tail would look like with the Watercolor Pencils blended with the Clear Wink of Stella 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
