FMS296 – Magical Birthday

I’ve been playing with the lovely, lovely “Magical Mermaid” Stamp Set over the weekendFMS296 & must admit am loving it.  For such a little stamp, it sure packs a bit of a punch!

I saw the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches & I had a piece of Watercolour Paper sitting on my desk waiting for inspiration to hit me so it was perfect timing to create something with the Paper using the sketch provided.  The only stipulation was keeping the card “clean-lined & fresh”.  I think I have managed to do this, but would love to know if you think I have!

It is not very often I create square cards, except for special occasions or if I am ask to do so.  In fact, my card is actually a 6″ square card but am loving the end result!  Now to create an envelope Magical-Mermaid-insideto fit it!

Thanks to the Watercolour Paper I could apply lots of water & with a big help from my Aqua Painter I was able to achieve what I had I my mind.  The key thing when working with water & your Aqua Painter is to let your card dry completely & also between colouring with different Inks so that they don’t run into each other, unless of course, that is what you are aiming for, eg my background.

Thank you to FMS for a great challenge.  Loved it!  Why don’t you pop on & play along with their challenge.  You still have a little time before the link closes.

You are able to download a Free Tutorial to create your own card.  The tutorial includes a list of supplies & measurements (metric & imperial).

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Happy Birthday

I have a couple of customers who are starting to purchase our Ink Refills so I thought it would be 20170622_090035blog-insideperfect to start showcasing ways we can use our Refills instead of just for our Ink Pads.  Gotta love it when you can get multiple uses from products.

I actually cased (copy & share everything) this card from Pinterest & thought it the perfect way to use the “Shaving Cream” Technique on our card.  Thank you Jan for your inspiration.

You may have noticed that Stampin’ Up! have brought out a new Background Stamp in the new Catalogue called “Marbled”.  It gives the marbling effect on your cards, but as I said I wanted to showcase the Refills to create the same effect.

I am still loving the Best Bird Stamp Set & will admit with all the new product being showcased I haven’t played with this set for a little while.  It has the coordinating Birds & Blooms Thinlits to match it & does make like so much easier.

The sponged circle is from a small piece of left over Textured Whisper White that has been sitting in my drawer for so long that was driving me crazy so I just had to use it…….  The bird was coloured using our Sponge Daubers.

Special Reason Bundle

Heya Stampers,

Today I am sharing with you a card we did in our class “Cards @ Toogoom” a few weeks20170513_145048blog ago.  The ladies loved it & thought it very pretty, especially the different fold which is a “Gatefold“.

Today also happens to be the last day to order from the 2017 Occasions Catalogue, so get your order in now as not all items will be available after today.  “Special Reasons” Bundle is not being carried over along with the “Falling in Love” DSP.

We’ve used Sweet Sugarplum, Sahara Sand, Early Espresso & Blushing Brides Inks for our flowers & leaves.  Early Espresso Ink & Card for our sentiment & punched with the Classic Label Punch.

The small flower on the right hand side of the card is popped up with a Stampin’ Dimensional & stops the Belly Band from sliding down.

If you click on the link above the photo, you are able to download a Free Tutorial which includes Measurements (Metric & Imperial), as well as a Supply List of all the product I’ve used to create our card.

Sunshine Wishes

I was very happy to know that although the Bundle will not be available in the new 2017-20170515_093151blog-close-u2018 Annual Catalogue, the “Sunshine Sayings” Stamp Set & coordinating “Sunshine Wishes” Framelits will not be retiring.  I love both these products.

I saw a card created by Andrea Walford using these Framelits on Pinterest & so I set about creating it.  I also found that she has a both a video tutorial & a PDF showing how she created her gorgeous card.  Thank you Andrea for your lovely inspiration.

My background has been created using the Faux Torn Paper Technique which I am more than happy with.

Hope you enjoyed the card today.

WWYS #112

I found a new challenge blog (new to me) yesterday over at What Will You Stamp?  Theywwys_112_Carousel Birthday list a stamp set to use each challenge which I thought was a little different.  I am just scrapping this card in as the challenge closes in an hour.

This week they are asking that we create a project using the “Carousel Birthday” Stamp Set which is from the 2017 Occasions Catalogue.

For my card I decided to do the “Chalkboard” Technique which I hadn’t done for sometime.  I always love the finished look of this technique.

Thank you for a great challenge & a change to play with this fantastic set once again.  I have created a couple more cards using this set so don’t forget to pop on back to check them out in the next couple of days.

To purchase your supplies to create your own card, head on over to my Online Shop.   While there, you can also check out the 2017 Retirement List & to place your order.  Items are selling out fast!  Once gone, they are gone forever!  When placing an order Online, don’t forget to use April’s Host Code.
