Happy Birthday

I found a card on Pinterest by the very talented Kelly Kent a little while ago & loved the simple layout of her card.  Thank you so much for your inspiration Kelly.

I love the “High Tide” Stamp Set, Page 25 of the 2017 Occasions Catalogue.  I have added my own bits & pieces to the card but the layout is still the same.  I used the “By the Shore” DSP on my card, along with Very Vanilla, Dapper Denim & Calypso Coral CS.

GDP 076

Today’s card is one I created for the challenge over at Global Design Project which I have followed for some time but have never played along.

This week it was “Case the Designer” & seeing as thought I loved the original card so much & wanting it to be totally different, I decided to go with the lovely “Beautiful You” Stamp Set & of course, this screams Watercolour Pencils.  I opted to go with Shimmery White for a little more of a brighter look than the Watercolour Paper.

Thank you everyone at GDP for a great challenge, thoroughly enjoyed it.  Be sure to pop on over & play along too.

Smooched Happy Birthday

My card today is one I created sometime ago while having a bit of a play with Stamp Pads & Dies.  Mind you, they are not normally colours I play with but I do know I was happy with it when finished.

To create my card, I smeared  Daffodil Delight & Tempting Turquoise Stamp Pads onto a piece of A4 Plastic Sleeve before spritzing with water.  I then grabbed a piece of Watercolour Paper & pressed it down into the Ink & smooched it around a little.  I repeated this a number of times until I was happy with the coverage.  The piece was then put aside to dry or you could dry it with your Heat Tool.

I cut the Butterfly from Basic Black Cardstock using the “Butterflies” Thinlits & running through the Big Shot.  I repeated the same process but this time with the large flower from the “May Flowers” Thinlits.

Once the “smooching” was dry, I layered it onto a piece of Daffodil Delight Card before layering onto the Base Card – Basic Black.  Both the Flower & Butterfly were the adhered to the top of the smooched card with Fine-Tip Glue Pen so that the die pieces looked like they were cut from the same Thinlit.

I stamped “Happy Birthday” from “Thoughtful Banners” Stamp Set direct onto a piece of Tempting Turquoise Card in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, cut it down to size, cut into a Banner Shape the Left Hand End & adhered to the Card Front.

To pop the card a little, I decided that it needed a bit of “bling” so I adhered a row of Rhinestone Basic Jewels down the centre of the Butterfly, created her Antennas, added one to the centre of the flower & then randomly scattered a coupled around the card.  I was amazed how the card seemed to pop after doing this.

Hope you liked my card today.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Happy Birthday

I haven’t been posting much of late but as from today, I hope to get back on track once 3-januaryagain.

Today’s card is one I created from one of our challenges we have over on our FB Page.  It is quiet an easy layout but one I thought I would try & create with a bit of a different take on it.

I’ve used the “Jar of Love” Bundle which includes the “Jar of Love” Stamp Set & the “Everyday Jars” Framelits Dies.  Don’t forget you can save yourself 10% when purchasing the Bundle.

The colours were Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight  & Memento Tuxedo Black Inks while the Cardstock is Whisper White, Basic Black & Melon Mambo for the Base.

FMS 273

The challenge this week over at Freshly Made Sketches is simple & easy.  You can make it fms-final-273-001what you like.  I decided to keep mine fairly simple with a little Water Colouring thrown in.

To create my card, I coloured a piece of Shimmery White CS with my Aqua Painter, Pear Pizzazz Ink for the grass, Soft Sky & Pool Party Inks for the Sky.

Once dry, I then stamped the Grass Image from the “Glamper Greetings” Stamp Set over my “grass” in Pear Pizzazz Ink.  A couple of small clouds from the “Life Me Up” Stamp Set were stamped in the sky (very had to see) in Soft Sky Ink.

I then cut the piece into 3 equal pieces before layering onto  piece of Basic Black CS leaving small edges showing around all pieces.  I originally had it layered onto Whisper White, but it did nothing for the card.  The Black makes the piece pop & the soft Water Colouring stand out a little.

The piece was layered onto a piece of Whisper White CS & then to the Base Card – Basic Black.

I have had an idea in my head about using this image after seeing Balloons in a certain way, so I set out & inked the large Balloon from “Lift Me Up” Stamp Set with Bermuda Bay Ink & Daffodil Delight using a Sponge Dauber.  I love how it turned out with the 2 colours. This was then die cut with the matching “Up & Away” Framelits & adhered to the Card Front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The small Balloon was inked in Bermuda Bay, cut with the matching “Up & Away” Framelits before it too, was adhered to the Card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I masked off the top part of the “…..Happy Birthday” Image from the same set with Sticky Tape, inked it with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, removed the mask & stamped it onto a scrap of Whisper White CS.  I then cut it into a Banner Shape 1 end before adhering to the Card Front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To complete the card, I tied 2 small Bows from Whisper White Twine & adhered to the Balloons with Mini Glue Dots.  The birds were hand drawn with a Project Life Journaling Pen.

Thank you once again FMS for a great sketch.  You still have time to play along.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’
