Our challenge this week is to make a card that represents the city, state or country where you live (or where you were born/raised).
Not having any stamps of planes and being no good at punch art, I had to pull out a retired stamp set. The layout is not my idea, as I have cased it from Marelle Taylor. I’ve changed the colours somewhat to try & represent the beautiful country we call “Australia”
I’ve used So Saffron to represent the sun, Marina Mist for the ocean and Certainly Celery the green land. I hope I have captured the feeling and what I think are some of our colours. I have 2 cards in each colour & know the exact person who will just love receiving these in the post.
Base Card – Whisper White Cardstock – Cut, score & fold Layer 1 – So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Marina Mist Cardstocks – 4″ x 3 1/8″ or 10cm x 8cm Layer 2 – Whisper White Cardstock – 1 3/8″ x 1 3/8″
I typed my greeting using my pc & printed directly onto the Whisper White base card. I then stamped the flower images onto Whisper White Cardstock, using Certainly Celery, Marina Mist & So Saffron Inks. I punched thiese images using my 1 3/8″ Square Punch. These were then adhered to the corresponding coloured cardstock, ie Certainly Celery ontoCertainly Celery, So SaffronontoSo Saffron and Marina Mist onto Marina Mist. For the greeting “Best Wishes” I again printed directly onto Whisper White Cardstock & punched using the 1 3/8″ Square Punch. This too was adhered to the card.
I then tore along the bottom of the coloured cardstock and attached the corresponding ribbon along the torn section – Marina Mist, Certainly Celery & Very Vannila and tied a knot.
