I saw a card on Pinterest some time ago and decided to have ago at a little bit of masking & sponging. I’ve sponged onto Whisper White Textured Cardstock as I am trying to use up my stock. It also gives a little bit of a wow factor to my card.
I created a mask from scrap paper by cutting a circle with the Circles Collections Framelits & running it through the Big Shot. I applied 2-Way Glue to the back of it & waited until it dried which gives me a temporary mask & one that can easily be removed.
After adhering my mask to my piece of Textured Whisper White Card, I started sponging with Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral & finally Soft Sky Inks with a couple of Sponges. Once I was happy with the depth of colour, I removed the mask & stamped the image from “Sail Away” (retired) direct over the sponging with Memento Black Ink.
With my Scoring Tool, I scored 2 lines down the Left Hand Side, 5 down the Right Hand Side & 1 along the Top & Bottom of the Card. I then decided that that I would weave the score lines for a little bit of a different look. Love to know what you think?
This piece was layered onto a piece of Soft Sky Card prior to adhering to the Base Card – Basic Black.
I stamped the sentiment “Best Dad Ever” onto a scrap of Whisper White Card in Memento Black Ink, cut a Banner Shape into the Left Hand End prior to adhering to Right Hand Side of Card.
I’m really happy with the final look of the card. A little different to the one I took the inspiration from.
Until next time, Happy Stampin’
Vicky
