My card today is one I created for my Dad for Father’s Day which was at the beginning of September.
I was sort of playing around when creating it & truth be told, it was going to be a card for something else & something entirely different, but it just sort of went off on its merry way.
I don’t have a tutorial for you today, but will try & remember what I did by the photo.
An oval was cut in the middle of a piece of Whisper White Card using the large Layered Ovals Framelits & ran it through the Big Shot. This piece was then embossed with the Seaside Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
I grabbed another piece of Whisper White Card just slightly smaller than the embossed card, placed it under the embossed card & lightly drew a line around the oval with a pencil. This gave me the area on where to sponge & stamp on the smaller piece of Whisper White Card.
This piece of card was then sponged using Stampin’ Sponges, Soft Sky, Marina Mist & Crumb Cake Inks. The birds are from the Wetlands Stamp Set & were randomly stamped in Early Espresso Ink. I lightly rubbed the pencil line out with a Rubber.
The embossed card was then layered onto the sponged card with Stampin’ Dimensionals, ensuring I placed a few around the outside of the oval. It was then layered onto a piece of Marina Mist Card before layering onto the Base Card – Crumb Cake Card.
I stamped “Happy Father’s Day” from Teeny Tiny Sentiments Stamp Set onto a piece of scrap Whisper White Card in Early Espresso Ink, cut it down to size, cut a Banner Shape either end before layering onto a piece of scrap Crumb Cake & cutting it down to size but allowing a small amount showing around all sides. It was the adhered to the Card Front.
I hope you like my simple card today. I know Dad did. In fact, he always thinks I buy them!!!!!!
Until next time, Happy Stampin’
