Today’s card is one I created for the challenge over at Mojo Monday. I have followed this challenge for some time & seeing as though I am finding it difficult to create at the moment, I thought playing along with a few challenges may get me a little motivated.
I’m not normally a Bright’s person, but I had the “Festive Birthday” DSP sitting on my desk from another project I had created – will show you that sometime next week – & thought “why not?”. I am actually surprised at how much I love this DSP & all the lovely patterns & colours in the pack.
While creating the card, I had a bit of a light bulb moment with the umbrella. I have been wanting to do a fringe along the bottom for sometime but couldn’t really work out how it was going to be achieved & then “Bam” & the brain went into overdrive. Now I am happy with it & looks like the beach umbrella I have & use down the beach.
Tip –
- Die cut 2 umbrella shapes from the “Umbrella Weather” Framelits in different colours or 1 in DSP & the 2nd in a matching CS colour
- Cut a small “fringe” along the bottom of the CS
- Layer DSP Shape over top with the “fringe” showing a little at bottom
I’ve actually left the sentiment off the card for the moment as I will do that when the occasions arises, although I don’t really think it needs one.
There is still time to play along with Mojo Monday so head on over to check out all the lovely creations.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

What a great card. I love your attention to detail – the fringe is gorgeous on the umbrella.
Thank you so much Kris for your lovely comment
