Welcome to the Top Ten Winners Blog Hop! Do you remember my post from a couple of weeks ago asking for you to vote? Check it out by clicking on “Teacher’s Gifts”. Thank you to every one of you who took the time to vote – it worked! Because of your votes, myself & other lucky talented Demonstrators get to hop along with Kylie (Australia’s #1 Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator). I feel very honoured to be among this group, so thank you once again!
You are visiting from Corinne Blake who is from the USA. I do hope you enjoyed Connie’s lovely creation.
Last month the theme was Teacher’s Gifts. Well, for this blog hope, it is the same theme but creating a new item. I did started out with butterflies in my head but now that I’ve finished it, they do look like funny sort of butterflies. Yep, I picked up the wrong item, but never mind, I am happy with the project & more than happy with the colours.
To create my crate, I die cut a piece of the Thick Whisper White CS using the Wood Crate FramelitWood Crate Framelit. As I wanted to try something different with my create, I mixed a small drop of Bermuda Bay Refill into a dab of Embossing Paste, placed one of the Pattern Party Decorative Masks over top & spread the Paste over the crate shapes prior to putting it together. I repeated the same process onto a piece of Whisper White CS which I was going to be using for my card.
The flower was created by punching 2 daisies from a piece of Whisper White CS with the Daisy Punch, sponged with a Sponge Dauber with Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie & then Daffodil Delight on both shapes prior to layering onto each other. The centre was created by sponging a piece of scrap Whisper White CS using the same process, stamping the centre from the Daisy Delight Stamp Set, punching with the 1/2″ Circle Punch & adhering to the centre. To complete my flower, I added a Gold Faceted Gem to the middle.
The leaves were stamped onto a scrap piece of Whisper white CS, first with Lemon Lime Twist, then with Old Olive, punched with the Leaf Punch, scored down the middle to give them dimensional before adhering to the flowers. They are from the Painted Harvest Stamp Set. Sorry the photo doesn’t really do them justice.
I placed 2 Ferrero Rochers into a Cello Bag, stamped the sentiment from Wood Words Stamp Set onto scrap Whisper White CS in Bermuda Bay, die cut using the Wood Crate Framelits & tied it to the Cello Bag with Whisper White Baker’s Twine (retired). I finished the bag off by tying a small bow from the Daffodil Delight Double Stitched Ribbon
For my card, I created another flower using the above steps, layered the embossed Card onto a piece of Daffodil Delight CS & then to the Base Card – Whisper White. The leaves were created the same way as the crate.
I’m pretty happy with the end result even though the flowers were meant to be butterflies. A happy mistake in this instance.
Next up is Karen……
Until next time, Happy Stampin’
Roll call for this hop –
Love those daisies! I had a similar experience with my project – I was going to use the daisies and couldn’t find my stamp set (found it later exactly where I thought it was) so I decided on the pansies instead!
Thank you Sandra. Isn’t that always the way.
Great way to use the Embossing Paste. Lovely project!
