Today marks a very important day in the history of Australia & New Zealand where we celebrate ANZAC Day all over the country. It start off with the dawn service at 5.45, followed by brekkie, a march & then lunch back at one of the may RSL’s around the country. I will confess I will be among them somewhere & feeling very proud of our service men & women.
It is the day we commemorate our fallen service personnel, especially those from Gallipoli & the Western Front.
While reading this I will be out catching up with old mates & hearing stories from the old diggers (which I love). Mind you, they are more than interested in any of the younger generation who have served our country too. It is a very humbling experience & brings goose bumps to my body, especially during the Dawn Service. This year I am attending the local service which is very intimate with a lot of the locals & surrounding areas attending.
To find out why ANZAC is so special to us – please follow the link below as it really gives a great explanation – https://www.awm.gov.au/commemoration/anzac/anzac-tradition/
THANK YOU to all those ex-service & servicing men & women, especially those that fought for our country & to those who gave their life so that we may have the freedom we have today.
“We will remember them”
