Christmas

With Christmas just around the corner, we made a start on our Christmas Cards in Crafty Creations this arvo.  As it is purely a volunteer class, I003a---blog am able to get more use out of some of my retired stamp sets, DSP, etc.  Each week we try & do a small technique & this week it was Heat Embossing.

SUO Challenge # 104

While trying to get all my stuff ready for Crafty Creations on Friday, I found a bit of Whisper White Card & decided I would create a card for the lovely Bronwen.  As I was happily creating, I remembered seeing a challenge over at SUO Challenges a couple of days ago which I think it fits, fingers crossed!!!!  The challenge calls for our card to be “Clean & Simple” .

As with most of my cards, the final result is not what I saw in my mind, but I am really happy with it.  I just love the touches of Rich Razzleberry & Coastal Cabana with lots of White showing through.006a-fb

My flowers have been coloured using Rich Razzleberry & Coastal Cabana Blendabilities & then little white dots added with the Stampin’ Chalk Marker.  If you don’t have the Marker, you could also use the White Gel Pen.  The flowers were then punched out with the Pansy Punch.

A strip of Rich Razzleberry DSP has been cut from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stacks, a strip of Coastal Cabana adhered down both sides before adhering to a piece of Whisper White Card.  The whole piece has then been adhered to the Base Card – Whisper White.

Two of the flowers have been adhered to the Base Card with Multipurpose Glue, while the middle flower is popped up with a Stampin’ Dimensional & a small Pearl Basic Jewel popped in the centre of each flower.

I stamped “Thank You” onto scrap Whisper White Card in Rich Razzleberry Ink, cut it out with the matching Framelit by running through the Big Shot & adhered one side to the card.

Thank you for a great challenge.  I did try to leave a comment, but somehow the site wouldn’t allow it.

Embossing Folders

029 (2)Today’s card is another we did in our Technique Class – Embossing Folders.  There are so many ways of using your EF instead of just running it through the Big Shot.  In our class we create 2 cards as well as a sample to take home for your Technique Books.

Next time you dig out your Folders to use on a card, look at it & try & use it a different way.  It will open up a whole new world for you & you will look at your Folders in a different light.

Our Stamp Set was Polka-Dot & Pieces.  Once which I think I purchased in error & had never used, but I love it.  So many possibilities!

In our card today we didn’t actually run our Folder through the Big Shot, instead we sponged different colours inks around the flat side of the folder, sprayed a little water & then pressed it flat onto our card.  Perfect for a background!  The fun part about this was that everyone had a different background, even though we used the same technique!  When I demonstrated the technique, I even got a different background to the one in today’s card.

EFIn fact, I didn’t even do this Technique on Watercolour Paper, it was done on our ordinary Whisper White CS.  I wanted to see how different it would be to use the Whisper White CS & what result I would get.  I must say I am happy with it!

Tunnel Card

In our Technique Class a couple of weeks ago, we created a fun Tunnel Card.  I was really surprised at how easy it was to create.  In fact, the hardest part was trying to think how to do the middle of it.  You can see the front of the card below in the last post.

Kinda Eclectic #2

Today’s card share is our 2nd card from a couple of weeks ago.043a

Instead of a Fancy Fold for the Base Card, I decided it would be a little different if we did a different fold for the inside. It is a bit of a “WOW” when you open the card & something that the receiver would not be expecting.

We again applied the Technique – Faux Canvas or Linen onto our card.

If you haven’t tried this technique, give it a go as it can be a little addictive.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’
