This is our 2nd card of our 4 cards we will be creating in Crafty Creations over 4 weeks.
I saw this card on Pinterest & thought it was perfect to use the now retired Stamp Set –Ornament Keepsakes & the matching Framelits – Holiday Ornaments. All I did was use the now retired DSP – Season of Style. In fact I have used a couple of other retired products, including Lacy Brocade EF & Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon.
Thank you Jennifer for your lovely inspiration.
As Crafty Creations is my volunteer class it is a great way to use up some of my stash of DSP & my favourite retired stamp sets.

Our current challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations is to create something using the fantastic “Framelits” from Stampin’ Up!
I decided to create a Christmas Card for this challenge. I am in the process of creating these cards for my next market coming up first Sunday in November, so this was the perfect opportunity for me.
Truth be told, I didn’t really know where I was going with this card, but knew that I wanted to use the “Ornament Keepsakes” with the dotty DSP from “Season of Style” which is in the current “Holiday Catalogue“. Of course I had to used my favourite EF – Perfect Polka Dots!
Don’t forget to head over to Sunny Challenges & Creations to check out what the other members of the Design Team have created. We would really love for you to join us this in this challenge. You have 2 weeks to create your project & link back with Mr Linky.

Our stamp set this month is the great Christmas set which has been carried over –
“Ornament Keepsakes”
With Christmas just around the corner, this is the prefect chance to make an early start on those cards in time for posting in December.
This month, we have showcased the gorgeous new DSP – Season of Style – which is in the Seasonal Catalogue. The kit is very tradition Christmas colours. The new Embossing Folder – Stylish Stripes is also showcased in this set of cards. In fact one of the cards has a small surprise inside, but shhhhhhhhhhhh if I tell you what it is then it won’t be a surprise!
To purchase your kit, all you have to do is click on Stamp of the Month Kits at the top of the page. It will take you straight to the page where you will see the PayPal Drop Down Button.
Once payment has been received, your kits will be posted in the mail. You will receive your PDF Tutorial via email.

It was my turn to create the challenge this week over at Sunny Challenges & Creations & thought seeing as though it is now July – a Christmas Challenge would be in order. Along with the sketch, we had to create a card, 3-D item or scrapbook page.
I don’t know if you have noticed in the new catalogue that there are NO Christmas/Holiday Stamp Sets or Accessories, BUT there is the Carry Over List from the Autumn/Winter Catalogue. In saying that, there is no reason as to why you could not use a retired Stamp Set to create your card or even a non-traditional stamp set!!!! You may surprise yourself with what you can come up with!
For those that know me, I tend to steer away from traditional Christmas Colours & like to go more with non-traditional colours, as in today’s card – Very Vanilla, Soft Suede & Pink Pirouette. I love these colours together & not just for Christmas. Of course, how could I not create a card without using my favourite Embossing Folder – Perfect Polka Dots!
Gwen has set us a great challenge this week over at Sunny Challenges & Creations – Sketch Only! As I am a little low on Christmas Cards, I thought this would be the perfect challenge to create yet another. I have most of mine written out & ready to go, but there is always that last 1 or 2 that you need…. I also decided to create it using my favourite Christmas Colours this year. I am a bit of a non-traditionalist when it comes to Christmas Colours.
Measurements – Base Card – Pink Pirouette – 8 1/4″ x 5 7/8″ or 21cm x 15cm Layer 1 – Whisper White – 3 7/8″ x 5 5/8″ or 14cm x 10cm Layer 2 – Rich Razzleberry – 3 3/4″ x 5 1/2″ or 13.5cm x 9.5cm Layer 3 x 3 – Silver Glitter Paper – 4 1/8″ x 7/8″ Layer 4 – Pink Pirouette – 3 1/2″ x 2 1/4″ or 9cm x 5.5cm Layer 5 – Silver Glitter Paper – 3 1/4″ x 2″ or 8cm x 4.5cm
My card was basically created from 3 pieces of Silver Glitter Paper that I found – all perfectly cut to size. I trimmed the corners of each end, adhered all 3 pieces to the piece of Rich Razzleberry Cardstock with Snail Adhesive prior to running through the Big Shot using Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. I do not know what I will ever do if Stampin’ Up! ever decided to retire this folder as it is my favourite & use it on most of my projects!
This piece was then adhered to the piece of Whisper White Cardstock & then finally to the Base Card – Pink Pirouette with Snail Adhesive.
I stamped the image onto a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock in Rich Razzleberry Ink, ran it through the Big Shot with the matching Framelit Die. Prior to adhering it to the small piece of Sliver Glitter Paper, I adhered a small piece of Silver Cord to the top so that it looked a little like it was going to hang. I then applied Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the cut out ornament & added small pieces of Sticky Strip to the tops of the Dimensionals. I’ve found when using the Glitter Paper, the Sticky Strip adheres a little better to the top of the Paper.
The whole piece was then adhered to the small piece of Pink Pirouette Cardstock with Snail Adhesive prior to adhering to the card. Again I placed SU! Dimensionals to the back, added small pieces of Sticky Strip priro to adhering to the top of the Glitter Paper.
To finish the card off, I placed a Rhinestone to the centre of the ornament & 3 along the bottom right hand corner.
We hope you will have time to join us this week for our challenge. We all love comments on our blog & as we love leaving comments, this would be perfect to play along. Why not head over to Sunny Challenges & Creations to check out what Kris, Gwen, Vicki & Carole have created. Create your card, link to an on-line forum, group or your blog & then link with Mr Linky.
… is what we created in our Technique Class on Sunday last. This lovely ornament is the one featured on the cover of Stampin’ UP!’s Holiday Catalogue. It has been seen around the traps so often & think just about everyone has created one or something similar to it. My ladies wanted to create this from the first time they saw it on the cover, so we set aside one of our Sundays to do just that.
Now, me being me, I didn’t copy from anyone, as I don’t go to “You Tube” & I am not one for reading instructions. I sort of went by my nose to create it & am happy with the result. I did forget to add the Thread to my sample, but that doesn’t take away from the whole ornament.
If you would like to create your own before Christmas, email me – vickiawright@bigpond.com – & we can arrange a class purely for this ornament.
It was my turn to set the challenge over at Sunny challenge & Creations. This week we had to use something from the new Holiday Catalogue plus use the sketch provided. Now the product could be in the way of Glitter Paper, Embossing Folder, Tulle, DSP, etc. There are so many wonderful new products that this should be an easy challenge for everyone.
My card didn’t turn out exactly how I had it pictured, as I sort of forget to do a couple of things while creating it. Fingers crossed, I get time to do another during the week.
Measurements – Base Card – Primrose Petals – 8 1/4″ x 4 1/8″ or 21cm x 15cm Layer 1 – Very Vanilla – 5 5/8″ x 4″ or 14cm x 10cm Layer 2 – Early Expresso – 5 1/2″ x 3 7/8″ or 13.5cm x 9 cm Layer 3 – Champagne Glitter Paper – 3 3/4″ x 3/4″ or 9.5cm x 1.5cm Layer 4 – Very Vanilla – 3 3/4″ x 2 1/2″ or 9.5cm x 6.5cm Layer 5 – Primrose Petals – 3 3/4″ x 1/2″ or 9.5cm x 1cm
I run the piece of Early Expresso through the Big Shot using Embossing Folder – Perfect Polka Dots, prior to adhering to the piece of Very Vanilla with Snail Adhesive, adhered a piece of Ribbon across it & then finally to the Base Card – Primrose Petals.
I cut the middle from the smaller piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock by running it through the Big Shot using one of the Dies from the Holiday Ornaments. The piece of Champagne Glitter Paper was attached to the left hand side of the piece with Sticky Strip, the piece of Primrose Rose Cardstock punched using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch & adhered to the right side of the piece with Snail Adhesive.
I stamped the matching ornament image onto a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock measuring a little smaller than the top piece – 3 5/8″ x 2 3/8“. I then placed SU! Dimensionals to the wrong side of the die cut Very Vanilla Cardstock, ensuring they were around the outer & inner edges, but not that they could be seen. I then adhered this piece to the stamped image, ensuring the images were correctly aligned prior to permanently adhering. I created a Rosette by cutting a 12″ x 1/2″ piece of DSP & scoring every 1/4″ with the Simply Scoring Tool. I folded this concentina fold, glued together with Hot Heat Gun & adhered to the middle of the stamped image, again, ensuring that the Rosette was placed in the middle. I punched a small flower from the Glitter Paper with the BoHo Blossoms Punch, adhered to the top of the Rossette & added a Pearl to the middle of the flower.
To finish the card, I tied a small bow & adhered to the top of the Ornament with a Mini Glue Dot.
