It is my niece’s 2nd Birthday today & hit the “terrible 2’s” a few months back. Her mum calls her “Lucy” when she is playing the devil.
For something a little different and after seeing how much she loves “Olaf” I thought it would be a good idea to create a card with him on it. Plus, it is something a little different & Punch Art! I love punch art but it doesn’t love me. I just can’t seem to get it to come together, but I must admit I am happy with this one. I found a great tutorial on Pinterest by Suzanne. Thank you so much, you made it very clear & easy, especially for me. I did do a couple things a little different, but it still looks ok.
When I went looking for a bit of DSP to represent a snowy background, I found the DSP – Sweet Sorbet from 2014 SAB & knew that this would be perfect for the card. This was adhered to the Base Card Basic Black, while I embossed a piece of Whisper White with the Decorative Dots EF to represent snow. This piece was adhered to a piece of Basic Black prior to adhering to the Base Card at a slight angle.
Once I had created “Olaf“, he was adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I also used a Stampin’ Dimensional for his face & 2 for his head to adhere to the card. I think it gives him more of a “POP”!
“Oh Yea” was printed using MDS, punched with the 1″ Circle Punch before adhering to a piece of Basic Black punched using the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch.
I cut the #2 from a Die I have had for years from Silver Glitter Paper & adhered to a Basic Black circle which has been punched with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. The little Balloon bit was created with the Heart from the Owl Punch & adhered to the back of the balloon.
Prior to adhering to the card, I wrapped a small piece of Pool Party Baker’s Twine around his hand & adhered to the back of the Balloon with a Glue Dot. prior to adhering to the card with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
To finish it off, I tied a small bow with the same twine & adhered to his hand with a Glue Dot.
I hope she likes it!
Until next time, Happy Stampin’
