Today I am sharing with you a card I created sometime ago but have never gotten round to sharing it with you.
Butterflies! I love seeing them in my garden, flying out & in the flowers & plants Some of them bright while others not so but all very beautiful just the same.
The butterflies have been stamped onto Basic White in Bermuda Bay, chopped into 3’s prior to adhering to a piece of Blushing Bride. I didn’t go how these colours would suite but I am liking them.
Randomly chopping my layers & DSP into pieces is one of my favourite ways of creating my cards. So what do I do this time round after stamping my image? Chop into 3’s, of course.
The central butterfly is from the now retired Butterfly Bijou DSP. I love that we have images on some of our DSP that also coordinate with our Dies.
To download a free PDF Tutorial, all you have to do is click on the link below. It includes both A4 – Metric & Imperial plus Letter size measurements. Of course we can’t forget the List of Products to create your project.
I’ve been playing with new goodies from the Occasion Catalogue 2016, especially the new Sunburst Thinlit Die & the coordinating Stamp Set – Sunburst Sayings the other day & this is what I come up with. I wasn’t too sure of it when I put it together but it has slowly grown on me.
To create my card I rubbed a little Daffodil Delight & Tangerine Tango Ink onto a A4 Plastic Sheet, spritzed a little water from a Stampn’ Spritizer & then rubbed a sheet of Shimmery White CS into the ink.
Once dried, I then run it through the Big Shot with the Die & layered onto a piece of Basic Black CS, followed by a layer of Whisper White CS & finally the Base Card – Tangelo Tango.
I stamped “Happy Birthday to You” onto scrap Whisper White CS, punched with 1 3/8″ Circle Punch before layering onto a punched piece of Basic Black CS which has been punched from the 1 1/2″ Circle Punch & then onto the Card Front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
To complete my card, I coloured a couple of Rhinestones with a Permanent Black Marker & randomly adhered to the front.
Today is my niece’s 1st birthday! Hard to believe she was born 5 weeks premmy & who has grown into a very healthy & happy little girl.
I aw this Punch Art Giraffe on Pinterest a few months ago by & had to recreate it. People are so very clever & imaginative . Thank you so much for your inspiration.
Now I will admit I am not the best when it comes to Punch Art, but I was sort of happy with my card. I think Zoey or rather her mum will love it. I did change a couple of things, including Embossing Folders, Dies, Punches & Colours.
If I get a chance in the Christmas break, I will do a tutorial on how I created her.
Our card today is the 2nd one we did in our class last month. Again, it is a very CAS – Clean & Simple Card, but one I am happy with.
I stamped the Globe Image onto a scrap of Very vanilla CS in Memento Black prior to punching out with Extra-Large Oval Punch. I also punched a piece of Basic Black CS with the same Punch & adhered to the stamped piece but just showing a small amount of Black down 1 side.
A piece of Crumb Cake DSP from the Neutrals Stack was layered onto a piece of Basic Black CS before a strip of Basic Black CS was adhered across the middle. The punched Ovals were adhered to the DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped “Happy Birthday” from “Crazy About You” onto a scrap of Very Vanilla CS, cut down to size, cut into a Banner Shape one end & adhered to the strip of Basic Black, tucking the end under the punched Ovals.
This piece was then adhered to the Base Card – Crumb Cake.
To finish the card, I adhered 3 Basic Back Candy Dots to the bottom right corner.
A couple of weeks ago, I had to create a Birthday Card for a friend. As I had a lot of stuff sitting on my desk from a previous project, I decided to use what I could see & started out caseing a card from the Catalogue, Page 119, but that was as far I went. as my card sort of ended up developing a little, well a lot, but I was happy with it.
I started out by stamping the flower outline in Mint Macaron Ink. The inside of the flowers were stamped in the same colour but stamped off once onto scrap paper. The middle of the flower was stamped in Hello Honey. The stems & leaf outlines were stamped using Old Olive. Again, I stamped off once prior to stamping the inside of the leaves.
As I thought it would be a little bare, I decided to stamp 2 more images & filled in the spaces by randomly stamping the smaller flower around the card using Blushing Bride Ink.
A piece of DSP from English Garden was cut & adhered to the side of the card prior to wrapping a piece of Old Olive Baker’s Twine down the join & tying a small bow.
As I wanted the sentiment to pop, I stamped it direct onto the Whisper White in Melon Mambo before adhering to the Base Card – Old Olive, but showing a small amount down both sides.
To complete the card, I adhered small Pearls to the centre of the Pink Flowers.
Don’t forget to use your catalogue for ideas & inspiration.
A couple of weeks ago, I created a card for a friend. Mind you, I was a little late in giving it to her, but she did receive it!
I don’t have a tutorial or measurements, so will try & remember how I created it.
For my candles, I applied 3 pieces of Cherry on Top Washi Tape to scrap Whisper White CS, cut them out & adhered to a piece of Whisper White CS. The flames are from Build a Birthday & stamped above the candles in Crushed Curry Ink. The whole piece was layered onto a piece of Bermuda Bay CS.
I cut a piece of the Cherry on Top DSP Stack, adhered to Whisper White CS prior to adhering to Base Card – Bermuda Bay.
I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap Whisper White in Black Memento, cut into Banner Shape & adhered to Card Front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Saying it like this, it took no time in creating, but in reality it took me about an hour to do, as I kept changing my mind & playing with papers & colours.
All in all, I was really happy with the card. I only hope Naomi was too.
I’ve been playing with my stamps & doing heaps of masking – love the look it gives your cards!
After creating a mask, I randomly stamped images in Melon mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tangerine, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive & Tempting Turquoise Inks using the images from Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set & creating a rainbow of colours.
I then decided it needed a little bit of a lift, so I applied 2-Way Glue down the edge of the mask with a ruler & poured over Dazzling Diamonds. Instant lift!
I stamped “Happy Birthday” from the Birthday Blossoms Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink. Of course, I ended up with a little bit of a black smudge, so randomly scattered Rhinestones around the card. Problem solved!
The Dragonfly I’ve had sitting in my pile of stash for some time & thought it would suit the card perfectly.
This piece was layered onto a piece of Basic Black Card & then to the Base Card – Whisper White.
