I must apologise if I have case’d this card from someone as I am not too sure. Please do let me know if you recognise it. It was one we did way back in July of this year. Where does the time go?
I love the bold bright colours of this card. Not usually my colours but that is the great thing about Teaching & doing Techniques, it does get you right out of your comfort zone. Plus I like to try & create cards that I know the ladies in the class will like, as well as creating cards to suit each individual style.
It was my turn to create the challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations. Along with the sketch, we had to use the Technique – Baby Wipe.
I started out with something completely different in mind & when I couldn’t get my mind onto paper, I sort of winged this one, but am more than happy with the end result. As I love Pink & Black, I decided to create something a little softer with a lighter pink, but still teaming it with Black. I also kept the card to a minimum as I wanted the technique to be the focal point.
Measurements – Base Card – Whisper White – 8 1/4″ x 4 1/8″ or 21cm x 15cm – Scored in the middle & folded in half Layer 1 – Basic Black – 5 1/8″ x 3 5/8″ or 13cm x 9.5cm Layer 2 – Glossy Cardstock – 5″ x 5 1/2″ or 12.5cm x 9cm ?
Inside Card…
Supplies – Stamp Set – Flower Fancy, Short & Sweet Ink – Staz-On – Black Cardstock – Whisper White, Basic Black, Glossy, Pretty in Pink Punches – Modern Label, Word Window, 1/16″ Circle Handheld Ribbon – 1/8″ Taffeta – Pretty in Pink Embossing Folder – Perfect Polka Dots Accessories – Snail Adhesive, Tombow Multipurpose, Re-Inker – Pretty in Pink, Basic Pearl, Bigshot Non-SU – Wet Ones
After I had applied my technique to my piece of Glossy Cardstock using Pretty in Pink Re-Inker & a Wet Ones, I stamped my image in the bottom LH corner of the cardstock with Black Staz-On. I was going to colour it using the same Re-Inker, but thought I would leave it how it is & keep it very simple. I then run the piece through the Bigshot using Embossing Folder – Prefect Polka Dots.
I made a ink pad from the same Wet Ones I had previously used, using Pretty in Pink Re-Inker, inked my greeting & stamped direct onto a scrap piece of Glossy Cardstock. This was punched out with the Word Window Punch & adhered to a piece of Basic Black Cardstock which had been punched with the Modern Label Punch. I then punched a small hole in each end of the Basic Black Label with the 1/16″ Handheld Punch, threaded a piece of Pretty in Pink Taffeta Ribbon through, tucked the ends under & adhered to the piece of Basic Black Cardstock with Tombow Multipurpose Glue.
The whole piece was then adhered to the Base Card – Whisper White with Snail Adhesive. I popped a Basic Pearl to the middle of the flower to finish the card.
I would really like to know what you think? Is it too plain????
Don’t forget to pop on over to Sunny Challenges & Creations to check out what Kris, Tanya, Gwen & our Weekly Guest Designers have created.
I am a day late in posting my 2nd calender, but better later than never. This one is a little different from the one posted 2 days ago.
I randomly stamped images over the pages of the calender using Riding Hood Red & Baja Breeze Inks. Ensuring all pages were squareed away nice & evenly, using my Handheld Punch, I punched 3 holes into the top of the calender about 1.5cm from each end & 1 cm down from the top. I applied 3 White Brads through the holes & adhered to the piece of A4 Whisper White Cardstock which had been adhered to a piece of Cardboard from the DSP Papers with Sticky Strip.
I created the background for the top of my calender by stamped random images onto Whisper White Cardstock using Riding Hood Red & Baja Breeze Inks.
The stamp set is a 2-step stamp set, but for the background, I only used the outline stamp. I wanted the background to be sort of clean looking.
Deciding that I wanted my 3-D flowers to filled in, I used both the outline & the filler stamps to create my flowers to be adhered over the background.
I stamped 3 large flowers onto Whisper White Cardstock using Baja Breeze Ink, cut them out & adhered over the stamped images using SU Dimensionals.
I stamped a number of smaller flowers onto Whisper White Cardstock using Riding Hood Ink, cut around the images & again adhered randomly to the stamped images using SU Dimensionals.
Using the Boho Blossoms Punch, I punched 3 flowers with Baja Breeze Cardstock, adhered to the centre of the larger flowers with Crystal Effects & adhered Basic Pearls to all the centres of the 3-D flowers.
This piece was adhered to a piece of Riding Hood Red with Sticky Strip & finally to the top of the calender.
Trying to use up more of my stash of DSP & stamps before they retire. This card is taken from the sketch of Mary-Jo’s I went with a stamp set that I really adore but have only used it probably once or twice – shame on me!
Base Card – Very Vanilla – 5 7/8″ x 4 1/8″ or 15cm x 10.5cm
Layer 1 – DSP – 3 1/2″ x 5″ or 9cm x 13cm
Layer 2 – Basic Gray – 5 7/8″ x 1 3/4″ or 15cm x 4.5cm
Layer 3 – DSP – 5 7/8″ x 1 5/8″ or 15cm x 4cm
Layer 4 – Basic Gray – 1 3/4″ x 4 1/8″ or 4.5cm x 10.5cn
Layer 5 – DSP – 1 5/8″ x 4 1/8″ or 4cm x 10.5cm
Layer 6 – Baja Breeze – 3 1/8″ x 2″ or 8cm x 5cm
Layer 7 – Very Vanilla – 3″ x 1 7/8″ or 7.5cm x 4.5cm
I stamped my image onto the Very Vanilla Cardstock using Soft Suede Ink. Inking my solid flower image with Soft Suede Ink, I stamped off twice & then stamped over the top of the first image – 2-Step Stamping! I then randomly stamped 3 flower outlines in Soft Suede Ink around the card & stamped the solid images using Baja Breeze Ink. I didn’t stamp off with this ink as it is a very soft colour anyhow. This piece was adhered to the Baja Breeze Cardstock.
Using my Scallop Trim Border Punch, I punched along the edge of the shorter piece of Basic Gray Cardstock & adhered the matching piece of DSP on top. I then adhered the longer piece of DSP to the longer piece of Basic Gray Cardstock.
I adhered the larger piece of DSP to the base card followed by all the layers – as per the sketch. I applied SU Dimensionals to the back of the Baja Breeze Cardstock before adhering to the card. I placed Basic Pearls to the centre of the flowers as well as down the RHS of the card.
When I first looked at the sketch, I thought “No, too much, not doing it!” But boy am I glad I did. I think the card made up really lovely & soft, but you be the judge.

For the class at Caloundra Community Centre, we did the Technique – Baby Wipe. This one has been around for some time, but I never tire of it & for the life of me, can’t understand why I don’t do it more often. Tutorial for this Technique may be found Here…
Now I have made 2 complete different cards, each using the same design from pre-SU. Mind you, these look nothing like the original.
Base Card – Tempting Turquoise – 4 7/8″ x 4 1/4″ or 15cm x 10.5cm Layer 1 – Whisper White – 4 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm Layer 2 – Daffodil Yellow – 4 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ or 11.5cm x 9cm Layer 3 – Whisper White – 4 3/8″ x 3 3/8″ or 11cm x 8.5cm Layer 4 – Melon Mambo – 3 1/2″ x 3″ or 9cm x 7.5cm Layer 5 – Whisper White – 3 3/8″ x 2 7/8″ or 8.5cm x 7cm
For the colours of my Baby Wipe, I used Re-Inkers – Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo & Elegant Eggplant.
Layer 1 – I adhered a piece of Taffeta Ribbon across the top half of Whisper Cardstock & then applied to the Base Card – Tempting Turquoise.
Layer 2 – First up, I stamp the flower images randomly across the larger piece of Whisper White. Then using Old Olive Ink, I stamped the leaf image randomly around the flowers & adhered to Daffodil Yellow Cardstock. I adhered Taffeta Ribbon across the top part of the card, ensuring that both ribbon pieces matched up evenly on the cardstocks. I tied a bow & adhered to card.
Layer 3 – Stamp the butterfly images randomly over the smaller piece of Whisper White Cardstock & adhere to the Melon Mambo Cardsock. I adhered this piece to the 2nd layer & then adhered the whole lot to the base card.
I stamped the sentiment using Old Olive Ink directly onto the Whisper White Cardstock.

I thought I would try something a little different & go for a sketch every Sunday. So if you have nothing to do, please play along or have a go at making a card, 3-D Project, or anything your heart desires using the sketch.
I’ve taken this sketch from one I use over and over before my Stampin’ Up! days.
As we all have all have bits and pieces stashed all over the place and purchased from everywhere, please don’t feel that you are restricted to using all Stampin’ Up! products.
If you are using SU supplies, please feel free to use current or retired stamp sets. I’m sure there are a lot of your favourites which are retired and you no longer get to use!
Don’t panic, if you have never played along with a Sketch Challenge – it’s as easy as 1 2 3!
