CCMC 162…

The jury is still out on this card, but thought I would use a stamp set which hasn’t been out of its box for some time, & give it a little bit of ink.
I’ve taken the sketch from Create with Connie & Mary which looked a great easy sketch until I blocked myself into a corner & out come the colour-coach.  I then re-did a couple of colours as I wasn’t too happy with the original take on it.  This is the first time I have done a sketch from here, but they are always have great sketches.
Base Card – Not Quite Navy – 5 7/8″ x 4 1/4″ or 15cm x 10.5cm – ie once it has been scored in half
Layer 1 – Crumb Cake – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – DSP – 4″ x 1″ or 10cm x 2.5cm
Layer 3 – Ribbon
Layer 4 – Not Quite Navy – Large Circle
Layer 5 – Very Vanilla – Smaller Circle
I coloured my ribbon with Crumb Cake Re-Inker & set aside to dry.

Inside Card…

?

Using Crumb Cake Ink I stamped my image randomly onto the Crumb Cake Cardstock, adhered the DSP to the top of the Crumb Cake.  I wanted to make it look like bubbles coming up from the bottom of the ocean.  I made a mask of the Seahorse from scrap paper & cut it out.  I stamped the seahorse image onto Very Vanilla Cardstock using Garden Green Ink, I attached the mask over the top of the seahorse, using another image & Garden Green Ink, I stamped off twice before stamping over the mask.  I repeated again.  I then inked my image again using Not Quite Navy Ink & stamped over the top twice.
I cut my 2 circles using the Circles Die, adhered the Very Vanilla circle to the Not Quiet Navy Circle & then to the Cumb Cake Piece.  I then ran the ribbon across the middle where the 2 pieces met & tied a bow off-centre.  Using SU Dimensionals, I adhered the whole piece to the Base Card.

With Envelope…

?

I stamped 3 shell images onto Very Vanilla Cardstock using Baja Breeze & cut them out.  These were applied to the card as per the sketch with the back one being adhered direct to the card while the front 2 were adhered using SU Dimensionals – gotta love these SU Dimensionals.
I repeated my masking for the inside of my card, adhered the Very Vanilla straight to the base card.  The masking was again repeated for my envelope.

SC 003/11…

Okey Dokey, this will be our third week for the challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations and it is going far better than we ever hoped!  If you haven’t seen the challenge, why not head over & see for yourself.

This week, I had to provide the sketch & stamp set to use.  I chose Fox & Friends!

Base Card – Pretty in Pink – 5 7/8″ x 4 1/4″ or 15cm x 10.5cm
Layer 1 – Rose Red – 4 1/4″ x 1″ or 10.5cm x 2.5cm
Layer 2 – DSP – 4″ x 4 1/4″ or 10cm x 10.5cm
Layer 3 – Rose Red – 3 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ or 9cm x 6.5cm
Layer 4 – Very Vanilla – 3 3/8″ x 2 3/8″ or 8.5cm x 6cm
Layer 5 – Rose Red – 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ or 1.5cm x 10.5cm
Layer 6 – Ribbon

I adhered Rose Red top & bottom to the DSP.  I stamped my images randomly & direct onto Very Vanilla Cardstock using Rose Red, Pretty in Pink & Soft Suede Inks.  I wanted to bring another colour into the card & browns always work well with pinks, although I didn’t want a strong brown, so Soft Suede Ink worked perfectly.

I adhered Very Vanilla to Rose Red & then to the DSP.  I adhered my Ribbon to the small piece of Rose Red, tied a knot & adhered to the DSP.  This whole piece was then applied to the Base Card.

I stamped my sentiment using Soft Suede Ink, punched it out using the Modern Label Punch, swiped Pretty in Pink around the edges & adhered to the card using SU Dimensionals.
All in all a lovely card for a baby girl!

Stamp Set – Fox & Friends, Short & Sweet

Just as I was cleaning up my desk, which is usually a mess after my craft session, I suddenly had an urge to do another card using Black, Red & White.  Why?  Who knows, but create I did.  So to make it a little easier, I went in search of a sketch & as usual Mary-Jo to the rescue.  She always has great sketches!
Mine started off to be a male card, but after looking at the end result, it could either be male or female.  My apologies to Mary-Jo as I didn’t strictly keep to the sketch.
Base Card – Riding Hood Red – 5 7/8″ x 4 1/4″ or 15cm x 10.5cm
Layer 1 – Basic Black – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Very Vanilla – 5 5/8″ x 3 7/8″ or 14cm x 9.5cm
Layer 3 – DSP – 1 1/2″ x 3 7/8″ or 4cm x 9.5cm

Card Inside…

? I stamped 3 identical images onto Very Vanilla Cardstock using Basic Black Ink.  I punched 3 circles in Riding Hood Red & layered them over the top of the stamped images.  I adhered the DSP to the bottom of the Very Vanilla & run the whole lot through the Bigshot using Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  This was adhered to Basic Black Cardstock & then to the Base Card – Riding Hood Red.

I stamped 3 smaller identical images onto Very Vanilla Cardstock again in Basic Black, punched them out & adhered on top of the Riding Hood Red circles.

The greeting was inked using Basic Black Ink onto Very Vanilla Cardstock & punched with the Large Oval Punch.  I punched another large oval in Basic Black Cardstock, cut in half & adhered to the back of the Very Vanilla with just a small edge showing top & bottom.  This was adhered over the top of the DSP using SU Dimensionals.

For my 2nd attempt, I’ve made it into a Christmas Card – getting that much closer every day.  You can see the original post & measurements Here
I also attached a ribbon & punched a greeting!  For the bird’s eye, I used a Basic Rhinestone & coloured it using a black permanent marker!  Works wonders!

SSC215…

My card for the sketch challenge over at Stamping 411 was especially created for a lovely friend who has been in hospital.  I didn’t want to post this until Saturday when I knew for sure that she would have received the card, but the challenge closes in 1 1/2 days.  I created a card which hopefully would be bright, cherry & fun!  I hope I have succeeded.
Again, I’ve used 2 stamp sets which will be retiring at the end of the month.  You will probably see me use a lot more for the rest of the month, as I want to make the most of them before “R Day” – Retirement Day.
Creating challenges from Stamping 411 means one thing – MEASUREMENTS
To help get you started, here are some possible measurements you could use:

1.Layer One — 5.5 x 8.5″, scored and folded to make your Card Base

2.Layer Two — 4 x 5.25″
3.Layer Three — 3 x 3.75″ — punch one end with a Border Punch
4.Layer Four — 2.75 x 3.25″
5.Layer Five — 1.75 x 4″
6.Layer Six — 1.5 x 3.75″
Using my SU Markers, I inked my image with Rich Razzleberry & Old Olive.  I wanted to bring a touch of a second colour into the card, so I opted for a stamp which I could work that with.  I stamped the image direct onto the piece of Whisper White Cardstock & adhered to a slightly larger piece of Cardstock – Rich Razzleberry.
I stamped my image direct onto Whisper White Cardstock using Rich Razzleberry Ink, stamping off at times.  This piece was run through the Bigshot using Embossing Folder – Perfect Polka Dots.  I love, love, love this folder & can’t get enough of it.  My piece of Rich Razzleberry was punched along the bottom with the Eyelet Border Punch.  The Embossed Whisper White was adhered to this piece.
My biggest piece of Whisper White Cardstock was scored every 1/2″ down the card.  I adhered all layers to this piece as per the sketch & wrapped a piece of Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain Ribbon around the lot.  I elected to stamp a butterfly image onto a piece of scrap Whisper White Cardstock using Rich Razzleberry Ink, cut the image out, dusted some Dazzling Diamonds onto the butterfly using my 2-Way Glue Pen & applied 3 Basic Rhinestones down the middle.  This was then adhered to the ribbon using SU Dimensionals instead of a bow or knot.
The whole piece was adhered to the base card, Rich Razzleberry, with SU Dimensionals.
Supplies –
Stamp Set – Great Friend, Eastern Blooms
Ink – Rich Razzleberry
Cardstock – Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry
Ribbon – 5/8″ Grosgrain – Rich Razzleberry
Punches – Eyelet Border
Embossing Folder – Perfect Polka Dots
Accessories – Snail Adhesive, Dazzling Diamonds, SU Dimensionals, 2-Way Glue Pen,
SU Markers, Basic Rhinestones
I hope you like this card Gwen & all the best for a very speedy recovery!
Until next time, Enjoy!
