Great Friend….

I love it when I get to use my favourite retired Stamp Sets once again.

Our card today is one we created in our Crafty Creations class way back in March.  I did case this from someone, but I can’t find the original card.  Please do let me know if you recognise it, so I can give you credit.  Thank you for your inspiration!

SSC215…

My card for the sketch challenge over at Stamping 411 was especially created for a lovely friend who has been in hospital.  I didn’t want to post this until Saturday when I knew for sure that she would have received the card, but the challenge closes in 1 1/2 days.  I created a card which hopefully would be bright, cherry & fun!  I hope I have succeeded.
Again, I’ve used 2 stamp sets which will be retiring at the end of the month.  You will probably see me use a lot more for the rest of the month, as I want to make the most of them before “R Day” – Retirement Day.
Creating challenges from Stamping 411 means one thing – MEASUREMENTS
To help get you started, here are some possible measurements you could use:

1.Layer One — 5.5 x 8.5″, scored and folded to make your Card Base

2.Layer Two — 4 x 5.25″
3.Layer Three — 3 x 3.75″ — punch one end with a Border Punch
4.Layer Four — 2.75 x 3.25″
5.Layer Five — 1.75 x 4″
6.Layer Six — 1.5 x 3.75″
Using my SU Markers, I inked my image with Rich Razzleberry & Old Olive.  I wanted to bring a touch of a second colour into the card, so I opted for a stamp which I could work that with.  I stamped the image direct onto the piece of Whisper White Cardstock & adhered to a slightly larger piece of Cardstock – Rich Razzleberry.
I stamped my image direct onto Whisper White Cardstock using Rich Razzleberry Ink, stamping off at times.  This piece was run through the Bigshot using Embossing Folder – Perfect Polka Dots.  I love, love, love this folder & can’t get enough of it.  My piece of Rich Razzleberry was punched along the bottom with the Eyelet Border Punch.  The Embossed Whisper White was adhered to this piece.
My biggest piece of Whisper White Cardstock was scored every 1/2″ down the card.  I adhered all layers to this piece as per the sketch & wrapped a piece of Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain Ribbon around the lot.  I elected to stamp a butterfly image onto a piece of scrap Whisper White Cardstock using Rich Razzleberry Ink, cut the image out, dusted some Dazzling Diamonds onto the butterfly using my 2-Way Glue Pen & applied 3 Basic Rhinestones down the middle.  This was then adhered to the ribbon using SU Dimensionals instead of a bow or knot.
The whole piece was adhered to the base card, Rich Razzleberry, with SU Dimensionals.
Supplies –
Stamp Set – Great Friend, Eastern Blooms
Ink – Rich Razzleberry
Cardstock – Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry
Ribbon – 5/8″ Grosgrain – Rich Razzleberry
Punches – Eyelet Border
Embossing Folder – Perfect Polka Dots
Accessories – Snail Adhesive, Dazzling Diamonds, SU Dimensionals, 2-Way Glue Pen,
SU Markers, Basic Rhinestones
I hope you like this card Gwen & all the best for a very speedy recovery!
Until next time, Enjoy!

LNS 133…

After creating this card for a challenge, I suddenly realised that it was wrong for the challenge, so back to the drawing board for me. Anyhow, it has been specially created for my niece who turns the BIG 18 – she is now LEGAL!!!!! Look out Everyone!
I have also used 2 stamp sets which are retiring at the end of August – Great Friend, which has been a really great friend to me, as I love this set & Baroque Motifs.  This is a special set too, although I haven’t used it as much as what I should have.

I stuck with Whisper White for my base card, as I wanted to keep it very clean & simple, but hoping that it would turn out very elegant! I also wanted it very soft, pretty & feminie for Bonnie!

I stamped the sentiment using Marina Mist Ink, scored every 1/2″ down the card, grabbed the flower & adhered with a SU Dimensional. The butterfly was stamped in Bashful Blue Ink – so long since I have used this colour that I completely forgot how soft it is – & Marina Mist on the edges – Rock & Roll Technique, added Dazzling Dimensionals with 2-Way Glue & adhered to the top of the flower with another SU Dimensionals. I addd 3 Basic Pearls down the middle.
I wrapped the Ribbon right around the card & tied a bow. I left the ends long on purpose.
Supplies –
Stamp Set – Great Friend, Baroque Mofits, Well Scripted
Ink – Bashful Blue, Marina Mist
Cardstock – Whisper White
Ribbon – Organza – Whisper White
Accessories – Bone Folder, Snail Glue, Flowers, Basic Pearls
Congratulations Bonnie on your 18th!!!!!!!
Until next time, Enjoy!

I found this sketch over at Sketch Frenzy Friday & immediatly thought of Fifth Avenue Floral & Great Friend.  This is one of my favourites, but then I think most of my sets are, including ones I don’t have – lol.
Base Card – Rich Razzleberry – 4 7/8″ x 4 1/4″ or 15cm x 10.5cm
Layer 1 – Old OLive – 4 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Whisper White – 4 5/8″ x 9.5cm
Layer 3 – Old Olive – 4 5/8″ x 1″ or 9.5cm x 2.5cm
Using Inks of Rich Razzleberry & Old Olive, I randomly stamped 2 different images onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock.  I then adhered the small piece of  Old Olive Cardstock down the LHS of the Whisper White, layered a piece of Pumpkin Pie Satin Ribbon down the middle, followerd by a piece of Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain Ribbon on top of that & tied a bow towards the top.

?

I stamped the sentiment using Rich Razzleberry & adhered to Old Olive Cardstock which had been punched using my Modern Label Extra Large Punch.  I adhered to the top RHS of the card using SU Dimensionals.
I punched a piece of Whisper White Cardstock using my 1 3/4″ Extra Large Circle Punch & with Old Olive Ink, stamped some leaf images.  I also stamped off while doing these too.  This was adhered to a piece of Pumpkin Pie Cardstock which had been punched using my Extra Large Scallop Circle Punch. For the white dots, I did these with my Gel Pen.
I stamped 2 butterfly images onto Whisper White Cardstock using Rich Razzleberry Ink, cut them out , applied a couple of Basic Rhinestones down the middle, curled them a little & adhered to the circle using SU Dimensionals.  I also added a couple of Rhinestones to the words in my sentiment.
These are colours I don’t usually go for, but I am trying to think outside the box a little.  Mind you, I don’t know how long it will last, but am quiet enjoying the different colours for the moment.

Special Card…

Today just happens to be Mother’s Day, so to all those mums out there – “Happy Mother’s Day!”.

I’ve made this card for a special aunt & will post it this arvo, although I must admit it will be a day late, but you know the old saying “Better late, than never”

For my card, I’ve taken the sketch from Clean & Simple Stamping  It also qualifies for my group’s weekly challenge, I think!

Group’s Weekly Challenge # 119 –   Focusing on Embellishments.  We must have at least 3 emblishments on our project.

Base Card – Concord Crush – 5 7/8″ x 4 1/8″ or 15cm x 10.5cm – Score & fold
Layer 1 – Blushing Bride – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Concord Crush – 4 5/8″ x 3″ or 11cm x 7.5cm
Layer 3 – Blushing Bride – 4 1/2″ x 2 7/8″ or 10.5cm x 7cm
DSP – 1 3/4″ x 2 7/8″ or 4.5cm x 7cm

I stamped the Blushing Bride Cardstock randomly using Blushing Bride Ink & my flower image & adhered it to the base card.

I randomly rubbed Shimmer Paint over the Blushing Bride Cardstock & heat embossed Clear Embossing Powder for the flower outline.  I used Versamark & Basic Gray Ink for the flower outline.  I repeated the same process for the sentiment.  I then adhered the DSP to the bottom half of the card piece.

I added the Brad to the middle of the Ribbon prior to adhering this to the top of the DSP.  I adhered Blushing Bride Cardstock to Concord Crush & adhered the whole lot to the Base Card.

Wanting to make the card “pop” a little more, I added 3 small Basic Pearls to the top RHS, bottom LHS & bottom RHS of the card.  I also decided to add one to the middle of the brad.  I used Crystal Effects to adhere the pearls.
Supplies –
Stamp Set – Great Friend, Fifth Avenue Floral

Ink – Basic Gray, Versamark
Cardstock – Concord Crush, Blushing Bride

DSP – Lap of Luxury
Ribbon – 1/2″ Stitched-Poly – Concord Crush

Accessories – Crystal Effects, Snail Glue, Embossing Powder – Clear, Brad – Pretty in Pink, Shimmer Paint – Frost White

Until next time, Enjoy!

SSC 199…

I know, 2 days in a row, wonders will never cease!

Today’s card is taken from the sketch challenge over at Stamping 411  They always have a great sketch, not to mention the measurements!

Layer 1: 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″ – Very Vanilla

Layer 2: 4 x 5-1/4″ – Wild Wasabi
Layer 3: 2-3/4 x 3-1/4″ – Rose Red
Layer 4: 2-5/8 x 3-1/8″ – Watercolour Paper

I stamped random images from “Growing Green” onto Wild Wasabi Cardstock, using Wild Wasabi Ink

I stamped the same image onto Water Colour Paper in Chocolate Chip Ink & using my Aqua Painter, coloured the image with Wild Wasabi Ink.  The flower image was stamped onto a scrap of Water Colour Paper again using Chocolate Chip Ink, coloured it with Rose Red Ink & my Aqua Painter.  I cut around the flower & adhered it to the Water Colour Paper using SU Dimensionals.  I stamped the sentiment in Chocolate Chip Ink.

I adhered this to a piece of Rose Red Cardstock, tied my ribbon across the top & adhered the whole section to my base card which is Very Vanilla Cardstock.

LNS 113…

It has been quiet sometime since my last post and to start again, thought I would do the challenge from Latenight Stampers.  This time it called for a colour challenge, with these colours looking absolutely stunning together – Blushing Bride, So Saffron, Certainly Celery & Early Expresso.  I decided to use one of my favourite stamp sets – “Great Friend”.

Base Card – Blushing Bride – 5 7/8″ x 4 1/8″ or 15cm x 10.5cm – cut, score & fold in half
Layer 1 – Early Expresso – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Whisper White – 5 5/8″ x 3 7/8″ or 14cm x 9.5cm

For my card, I layered Early Expresso Cardstock onto the Blushing Bride Base Card.  I then applied Blushing Bride ink over the smooth section of Embossing Folder Petals-A-Plenty & ran it through the Big Shot.

I cut a piece of Certainly Celery Grosgrain Ribbon, along with a piece of Whisper White Grosgrain Ribbon.  The Whisper White Ribbon I then ran over So Saffron Ink to give me So Saffron Ribbon
I stamped the sentiment using Early Expresso Ink & punched it out using my Word Window Punch.  I attached all 3 pieces together with a Clear Rhinestone Brad, adhered it to the embossed cardstock & then adhered that to the base card.
I stamped 3 butterfly images using So Saffron, Early Expresso and Certainly Celery Inks.  I cut these images out, applied Dazzling Diamonds & 3 small Basic Rhinestones down each centre of the butterflies.  These were then adhered to the LHS of the card.

Glitter…

This is another set I’ve had for quiet some time, but have not used it as much as I should have.  It makes for a lovely card.  We all tend to go for our newer stamps, forgetting that our older stamps are feeling very lonely on our shelves & still do such a lovely job.  I will admit that some of my favourite stamps are the older stamp sets I have.

Stamp 3 images, one in Concord Crush & 2 in Pretty in Pink onto Whisper White Cardstock
Using your Watercolour Pencils, colour 2
With an Aqua Painter & Inks, paint the 2 you have just coloured in
For the 3rd flower – using a pencil, tuck flower ends under.  I adhered these to a Mini Glue Dot
Adhere all 3 flowers togther
Apply Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the centre of the top flower & pour in Glitter
Once dry, tap excess glitter back into bottle

Cut Base Card using Concord Crush Cardstock

Adhere all layers together & then adhere to the LHS onto the base card
Adhere flower to centre
Stamp sentiment onto Very Vanilla Cardstock using Concord Crush

Red Robin…

A beautiful photo of a lovely little bird!

I’ve created this card for the challenge over at Our Creative Corner

Like most of my cards, I’ve tried to keep it for any occasion, ie Birthday, Sympathy, Thank You, etc  I find this works easiest for me, then I am not having to try & think of a card to make at the last moment.  I will also make a lot of cards with no sentiment/greeting so that when I do need a card in a hurry, I then stamp a sentiment/greeting, either directly onto the card or adhere one to the card.

For my card –
Cut base card using Chocolate Chip Cardstock
Cut smaller piece of Cardstock using Riding Hood Red & adhere to base card
Cut Cardstock using Chocolate Chip – 4″ x 2 1/2″
Cut piece of Garden Green Cardstock – 3 7/8″ x 2 3/8
Adhere Garden Green to Chocolate Chip
Cut piece of Watercolour Paper – 3 3/4″ x 2 1/4″
Stamp image using Chocolate Chip Ink

Using Aqua Painter, Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red & Garden Green Inks, colour image
Adhere Watercolour Paper to Garden Green piece of Cardstock
Attach Brad to middle piece of ribbon
Attach ribbon across bottom of image & tuck ends under
Attach whole section to the base card
Stamp sentiment/greeting using Chocolate Chip Cardstock & punch using Oval Punch
Punch piece of Riding Hood Red Cardstock using larger Oval Punch
Punch piece of Garden Green Cardstock using Scallop Oval Punch
Adhere all 3 pieces together
Adhere to RH bottom of card
Supplies –
Stamp Set – Every Moment, Great Friend
Inks – Chocolate Chip, Garden Green, Riding Hood Red
Cardstock – Watercolour Paper, Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red, Garden Green
Ribbon – Retired
Punches – Scallop Oval, Oval, Oval Large
Accessories – Snail Glue, Aqua Painter
Non-SU – Brad

This card could be used for male or female or for that matter any occasion!

Until next time, Enjoy!

Old Friend…

I’ve dug out another old stamp set – Great Friend for today’s card.  This woud have to be one of my all time favourites & ask myself “why don’t I use it more?”  Good question, so fingers crossed you will see more of it this year!
The sketch is from Utah Divas International
Cut base card in Pear Pizzazz – score & fold in half
Cut Early Expresso – 5 5/8″ x 3 7/8″
Adhere to base card
Cut 4 pieces of DSP Patterns – Blushing Bride – 2 1/2″ x 1 7/8″
Adhere to Early Expresso Cardstock
Using Circle # 2 Bigshot Die & Early Expresso Cardstock, cut out circle
Using Circle # 2 Bigshot Die & Whisper White Cardstock, cut next size down for top circle
Stamp leaf image randomly over Whisper White using Pear Pizzazz Ink
Adhere to Early Expresso circle
Apply Stampin’ Dimensionals to back of Early Expresso, adhere to centre of card base
Stamp 2 butterfly images onto scrap of Whisper White Cardstock using Blushing Bride Ink & cut around images
Adhere to top of circle
Apply Jewels to the centre of butterflies
Stamp sentiment directly onto DSP – if desired
Again, I have left my sentiment off until such time as I go to use it & then I will stamp my sentiment directly onto my card

Stamp Set – Great Friend

Cardstock – Pear Pizzazz, Early Expresso, Whisper White
