SPSSS01…

G’day Stampers,

I received this lovely card via email from Jenny for the above sketch & just had to post it so that you could all check it out!
Let me know what you think, as I am sure Jenny would just love to hear your comments.  As she does not have a blog, email your comments to me or to the blog & I will be sure to pass them on.
Thanks for looking!

Enjoy!

Manly Monday…

I’ve wanted to make a male card using “Totally Tool” with the background embossed to make it look like a board.  After checking out the sketch SSC149 this is what I have come up with.

My Card –
Supplies –
Stamp Set – Totally Tool, Best Yet
Ink – Basic Gray, Old Olive
Cardstock – Very Vanilla, Basic Gray, Old Olive
Punches – 1 3/4″ Circle, 1 1/4″ Circle, 1/16″ Handheld
Embossing Folder – SU Perfect Polka Dots
Accessories – Brads, Big Shot, Grosgrain Ribbon – Old Olive, Snail Adhesive, Sponge
Non-SU – Alfoil
To ensure the end result was a little stronger, I run 2 layers of Alfoil through the Embossing Folder.  This gave me a little more strength to work with.
I’ve stamped the screwdriver onto Very Vanilla Cardstock &
punched a hole through the top of screwdriver, attached a silver brad so that it looks like it is hanging from the wall.
I then sponged a little of Basic Gray & Old Olive around so that it seems like there is a little oil, etc on the board.
To carry the theme through, I punched a hole through the “o” in “You” for a silver brad
Until next time, Enjoy!

5th Avenue…

G’Day Stampers,

Mother’s Day…

Using the Mother’s Day Challenge over at Late Night Stampers, I’ve combined SSC # 148 from Stamping 411 – http://stamping411.blogspot.com – to come up with a card suitable for Mother’s Day.
Of course, how can you go past Stampin’ Up!s® “5th Avenue” stamp set for mother’s day, but then that is me!
My Card –
 Supplies –
Stamp Set – 5th Avenue
InkMelon Mambo* Pink Pirouette
Cardstock – Whisper White, Melon Mambo
Embossing FoldersPerfect Polka Dots*

Accessories – Snail Adhesive, Grosgrain Ribbon – Pretty in Pink

 *  Autumn-Winter Mini-Catalogue 2010
I’ve kept the cut out flower from “5th Avenue” very plain, as I didn’t want to take the whole effect away from the background.
For the greeting, I typed “For You” on the pc, printed & then attached using a very thin piece of Whisper White cardstock.
TIP – Cardstock cut into very narrow strips make for a great thread.  Colour co-ordinate and use it for your buttons, labels, etc
Until next time, Enjoy!

SSSC64 – Congratulations…..

G’day Stampers,
It has been a couple of days since my last post, but had some great news last Saturday night & as a result this is the card I come up with using the sketch SSSC64 from “The Sweetest Thing” – http://www.kgiron.blogspot.com

Knowing that red was a must and what goes with red, but black & white!  Then not being able to decide between the sets “Embrace Life” or “Eastern Blooms” –  the flower from “Eastern Blooms” winning out in the end, as I just love how the Heat Embossing Technique works on this flower.
I’ve changed the layout of the flowers a little.
Card –
Supplies –
Stamp Set – Eastern Blooms, Wonderful Words
Ink – Basic Black, Versa-Mark
Cardstock – Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White
Accessories – Snail Adhesive, Pretties Kit, 2-Way Glue,
3/4″ Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon*, Embossing Buddy,
Powder Tray, Embossing Powder – White, Heat Tool
* Summer Mini-Catalogue 2010
Congratulations Dannielle & Chis!
Enjoy!
