Challenge # 99….

Over at A La Card Monkey, they are one off reaching their 100th challenge.  I have been keeping my eye out for it so that I could create something for their big 100, but when I saw this great little sketch, thought I would have a go.  I’m not too sure about it at the moment, but will sit on it for awhile.  Usually if I am like this, I find it is best to leave it alone & not add as sometimes you will ruin it….

Do you ever have an idea in your head but doesn’t atter what you do it just never seems to end up how you pictured it the same on paper.  This is what happened to the card I created for today’s challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations  Now that it is finally finished, I am  really happy with, but I must confess it has taken me a couple of days as I kept stopping & starting.  In fact I created 2 cards, but like this one the best.

Another new challenge is up & running over at Sunny Challenges & Creations.  Wouldn’t you think that if I had to set the challenge, I would have some sort of idea on what to create – Nope, No Way, Not me!!!!!!

For this challenge we had to use the Technique – Faux Silk. I love techniques, so this was a great challenge for me.  The sketch is fairly easy too.  So why not join us?

Now don’t be like me & continue tossing out your little scrunched ball.  I did it about 3 times before I realised what I was actually tossing out!

Guest Designer….

I found a new challenge blog – A La Card Monkey – the other day, as I had a heap of “stuff” on my desk & had not yet cleaned up, thought I would play along.  The blog has been going for some time, but new to me.  This is the card I created & suprise, suprise, I ended up being “The Princess” for the challenge.  How great is that.

As part of being selected “Princess“, I, in turn am a Guest Deisgner for one of their upcoming challenges & it just happens to be this week.

This is the sketch we had to use.  Part of the challenge is we had to use something which represented “Memories“.  To me, happiness always brings back happy memories!

SC 027/12…

The sketch over at Sunny Challenges & Creations this week brought to us by Kris.  Along with the sketch, we had to use the colours of Black, White plus 1 other colour.  I choose to go with Old Olive.  I wanted to do a colour that you don’t often seen with Black & White, but am still deciding if I like the card yet or not.

On both pieces of the smaller Whisper White Cardstock, I stamped random images using Old Olive & Basic Black Inks.  Both pieces were then adhered to the matching Basic Black pieces using Snail Adhesive.
I stamped the “F” image & the sentiment onto the larger piece of Whisper White Cardstock with Basic Black Ink.  I then stamped the vine image around the outside of the Whisper White with Old Olive Ink.  This piece was adhered to the piece of Basic Black & then to Old Olive using Snail Adhesive.
I adhered the DSP to the largest piece of Whisper White Cardstock with Snail Adhesive & then to the Base Card – Old Olive.  I adhered the randomly stamped images to the base card as per the sketch.  With the larger piece, I adhered this to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
To finish the card & to tie it altogether, I applied 5 Rhinestones into each of the top & bottom corners.
Supplies –
Stamp Set – Pocket Silhouettes, Vintage Vogue
Ink – Basic Black, Old Olive
Cardstock – Old Olive, Basic Black, Whisper White
DSP – Neutrals Designers Series
