Something…

Inside…
… which started out being created first & then by the card which was posted yesterday.  I wanted them to match in with each other, but not use the same DSP, if this makes sense!

I’ve created both the card & Notebook for a birthday, so hopefully she won’t come onto my blog until later on in the week or even Saturday.  It is for one of the ladies who attends Craft Creations at the Community Centre in Caloundra.

Once I had worked out my measurements & score lines, this was quiet a easy project to put together.

Measurements –
Inside –
Base Layer – Pear Pizzazz – 2 7/8″ x 2″ – Score at 1 1/4″ & 1 1/2″
Layer 1 – DSP – 2 3/4″ x 1 3/4″

Outside –

Folder – Pumpkin Pie – 8″ W x 7 7/8″ H – Scored at 2 1/4″, 2 1/2″, 5 1/2″ & 5 3/4″
Layer 1 – DSP – 2 x pieces – 7 3/4″ x 2 1/8″, 1 x piece – 7 3/4″ x 2 7/8″

Inside –
I adhered the DSP over the Pear Pizzazz & stuck it to the top of the notebook, ensuring that part of the cardstock went over onto the back.

Using Inks of Pumpkin Pie, Baja Breeze & Pear Pizzazz, I randomly stamped images on all pages of the notebook, just to give it a finished look & to tie it altogether.  The stamped images were stamped off once so that Naomi is still able to write over the top of them.

After scoring the folder, I adhered the pieces of DSP to the top of Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, leaving a small edge showing all around the folder.  I tied a piece of Pear Pizzaz Ribbon right around the LHS of the folder & tied a Bow-Tie towards the top of the card & off centre.  I typed “Naomi” onto a pice of Whisper White Cardstock, stamped part of images onto the Whisper White & adhered to a piece of DSP using SU Dimensionals.  The piece of DSP had been punched using Scallop Oval Punch.
To hold it together I will use a velcro dot of which I will have to purchase prior to wrapping.

Cardstock – Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz

Until next time, Enjoy!

To Colour or Not to Colour…

I created this set of fun cards for a birthday for one of my nieces & just as I was about to colour, thought “No, she can do that“.  This way it will be something that she hashelped create for her little friends.  I then made a matching basket to give them a home.  I am also trying to use my stash of DSP & stamps before the new Catalogue comes out!
The cards all measure 4″ x 4″.  They have been stamped directly onto Whisper White Cardstock using Basic Gray Ink.
I cut strips of DSP about 1 1/2″ x 4″, punched the sides with different Border Punches & adhered them to the side of the cards.
For my flowers, I have used ones from my box of goodies, some are SU Flowers, while others are pre-SU!  I adhered Basic Pearls to the centre of the flowers.
The Basket is made from Whisper White Cardstock & covered with the same DSP as I’ve used on the cards.  I attached flowers to the sides & front.  For my handle, I used a piece of DSP, punched a border down both sides & adhered to the sides of the basket.
Supplies –
Stamp Set – Pun Fun
Ink – Basic Gray
Cardstock – Whisper White
DSP – Sweet & Sour Speciality
Punches – Scallop Edge Border, Scallop Trim Border, Eyelet Border, Pinking Hearts Border

Box of Notes…

With what started out something compeletely different, I am quite happy with the end result.  Although these little boxes have been around for quiet sometime, I wanted to try something or add something to it.  It gives the box a completely different look, yet still being useful to store your notes for messages.  Actually, now that I have seen the box in a new light, there are tons of ideas going around in my head.

Now that I think of it, the Box of Notes may also qualify for Latenight Stampers Weekly Challenge # 123, which is Making the Grade – showing your appreciation to those teachers who have made a difference in your child’s life, or your own life for that matter.  This is able to be in the form of a card, gift, treat, etc

Happy Birthday Ashly…

I’ve done something a little different for today.  Still making a card, I decided to make this from a card I had stashed away from my pre-SU® days.  I’ve also seen a few around on different blogs.
This is for my niece who has her birthday in about a week’s time.  They have just been allocated a new house for a couple of months while their house is being fixed.  They were evacuated from the floods in Emerald.  The girls thought it a big adventure as they got to ride in a boat as well as a helicopter.
I’ve actually only used 1 x 6″ x 6″ piece of DSP for the purse, while the flap is a piece of DSP –  4 1/2″ x 2″.
For the greeting, I printed it on the printer, then cut it out using the Word Window Punch.  The font colour is actually Pumpkin Pie.  I’ve been playing with font colours on my pc and have managed to save a couple of font colours under SU’s colour family.
The flower I used my Stampin’ Pastels & adhered the button in the middle.  The button is from my sewing box!  I also added a flower to the inside.
The small pocket for your gift card or in my case “money” is made from a piece of Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, scored around 3 sides  adhere to the inside.
