SC 03612…

Our sketch over at Sunny Challenges & Creations has been brought to us by Gwen – yep Gwen is back this week!  We only the the sketch to go by, although she has created something that I really had to think about & for the life of me nothing would come so I basically winged this & did it as I went!

Measurements –
Base Card – Early Expresso – 8 1/4″ x 4 18/” or 21.5cm x 15cm – Scored in middle & folded in half
Layer 1 – Very Vanilla – 5 5/8″ x 4″ or 14cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Early Expresso – 3 3/4″ x 2 1/4″ or 9.5cm x 5.5cm
Layer 3 – Very Vanilla – 3 5/8″ x 2 1/8″ or 9cm x 5cm
Layer 4 & 6 – Early Expresso – 2 3/4″ x 1 3/4″ or 7cm x 4.5cm
Layer 4 & 7 – Very Vanilla – 2 5/8″ x 1 5/8″ or 6.5cm x 4cm

I run the large piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock through the Bigshot using the Embossing Folder – Vintage Wallpaper.  I then rubbed the Tea Stain Ink Pad from the Distrissing Kit over the top & set aside.

Envelope & Inside Card…

I stamped the long piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock after inking my image in Crumb Cake & sponged a little bit of the Tea Stain Ink around the edges prior to adhering to the long piece of Early Expresso Cardstock with Snail Adhesive.  I adhered this whole piece to the LHS of the embossed piece of cardstock with Tombow Multipurpose Glue.

The 2 smaller pieces of Very Vanilla Cardstock were randomly stamped with Crumb Cake, sponged around the edges with Tea Stain Ink using SU Sponge & adhered to the 2 smaller pieces of Early Expresso Cardstock using Snail Adhesive.  Both pieces were adhered to the embossed piece with Tombow Multipurpose Glue.

The image in the middle was inked with Crumb Cake Ink, stamped onto a scrap of Very Vanilla.  The sentiment was inked with my SU! Marker – Early Expresso one by one & stamped into the stamped image one by one.  For this method, I inked one word at a time, once stamped, cleaned & repeated.  I cut the frame out & mounted with SU! Dimensionals.

The butterflies were cut using the Bigshot & Beatutiful Wings Embosslits Dies.  I usually have a heap of different colours in a small plastic container, but no Early Expresso.  I adhered the small Pearls to the middle of the butterflies prior to adhering randomly to the card with Tombow Multipurpose Glue

Pearls were adhere to the flowers prior to the whole piece being adhered to the Base Card with Tombow Multipurpose Glue.

I’ve just noticed I missed a couple of Pearls in the photo, but they have since been added…..

Supplies –
Stamp Set – Just Believe
Ink – Crumb Cake, Tea Stain
Cardstock – Early Expresso, Very Vanilla
Embosslits Die – Beautiful Wings
Embossing Folder – Vintage Wallpaper
Accessories – Snail Adhesive, Tombow Multipurpose Glue, SU! Markers – Early Expresso, Pearls

SC 035/12…

Wishing everyone a very Happy & Safe Easter!  I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful Autumn sunshine, as it is not the norm for Easter on the coast.  Me, I am off to the beach.

Our sketch this week over at Sunny Challenges & Creations is for all the mothers out there.  Yep, with Mother’s Day coming up, thought it would be great to do a card for the mum’s.

I made my card a couple of weeks ago, forgot about it & created another one yesterday, but will post that during the week.  I’ve tried my hand at a little bit of vintage this week and am quiet happy with the result.  I am enjoying this “out of the box” for me!

Measurements –
Base Card – Pink Pirouette – 11 3/4″ x  4 1/8″ or 29.5cm x 10.5cm – Scored in middle & folded in half
Layer 1 – Soft Suede – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – DSP – 3 1/2″ x 3 7/8″ or 9cm x 9.5cm
Layer 3 – Pink Pirouette – 2″ x 4 1/8″ or 10.5cm x 5cm
Layer 4 – Very Vanilla – 1 7/8″ x 4″ or 10cm x 4.5cm

I run the piece of Soft Suede through the Bigshot using Embossing Folder – Perfect Polka Dots, before rubbing Whisper White Ink over the top.

Inside…

Prior to adhering the DSP to the bottom of the embossed Soft Suede, I sponged around the edges with a SU Sponge Dauber using Tea Stain Distressing Ink from the Distressing Essentials Kit

The piece of Very Vanilla was run through the Bigshot using the Embossing Folder – Finial Press.  I rubbed the Tea Stain Distressing Ink over the top of the embossing & adhered to the piece of Pink Pirouette & then to the DSP.

I pulled a thread from the middle of the Ribbon so that it would gather a little & adhered along the bottom part of the DSP, tucking ends under.  Tied a small bow, wrapped a Glimmer Brad around the middle & adhered to the ribbon with a Mini Glue Dot.

I cut the butterflies using the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Dies from Soft Sude Cardstock, adhered to card using a Mini Glue Dot.  Three basic Pearls were adhered to the middle of the butterfly.

The whole piece was adhered to the Base Card with Snail Adhesive.

Why does it always sound so easy that I think I have done it in 5 minutes, when in actual fact, it sometimes takes me days to complete a card.  This one included!

Happy April’s Fool!!!!!

Yep, today is April 1 & marks April Fools Day!!!  So look lout for all those pransters that you have around you or know!!!!

Today also brings the start of our weekly challenge over at Sunny Challenges & Creations & was created by Kris.  Very easy this week, so we would love to see heaps of creations posted…..

Measurements –
Base Card – Whisper White – 8 1/4″ x 4 1/8″ or 21cm x 15cm – Scored in the middle & folded in half
Layer 1 – Basic Black – 5 1/2″ x 3 7/8″ or 14cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Whisper White – 5 5/8″ x 3 3/4″ or 13.5cm x 9.5cm
Layer 3 – Basic Black – 5 1/4″ x 2″ or 13cm x 5cm
Layer 4 – Pear Pizzazz – 3″ x 3/4″ or 8cm x 2.5cm
Layer 5 – Pear Pizzazz – 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ or 6.5cm x 6.5cm
Layer 6 – Whisper White – 2 3/8″ x 2 3/8″ or 6cm x 6cm

I did start out to use Night of Navy & Pear Pizzaz.  By the time I come to the ribbon, I realised what I had done, but by then it was too late, so I continued with it.  I quiet like like the colours together.  Do you ever do that?  I seem to do it all the time!  I did want to use more of the Pear Pizzazz Cardstock, but suddenly realised that I only had 2 small bits left to complete my card!

Envelope & Inside Card…

I run the small piece of Basic Black through the Bigshot using Embossing Folder – Vintage Wallpaper.  I repeated the same for the smaller piece of Whisper White using Embossing Folder – Perfect Polka Dots.  The embossed Basic Black was adhered to the embossed Whisper White with Tombow Glue, then to the larger piece of Basic Black before adhering to the Base Card – Whisper White.

I punched along one edge of the small piece of Pear Pizzazz using the Scallop Trim Border Punch, adhered a piece of Ribbon along the middle, tucked ends under, tied a bow & adhered to the card with Tombow Glue.

Close Up of Flower Image…

I inked my image with Pear Pizzazz Ink & for a little bit of a different look, I randomly applied my Basic Black SU! Marker to the inked image before stamping onto a scrap piece of Whisper White Cardstock.  I again stamped the image in Pear Pizzazz Ink, stamped onto the square piece of Whisper White, adhered to the square piece of Pear Pizzaz & finally to the Base Card using Tombow Glue.

I cut around the 2-coloured stamped image & adhered to the top of the stamped image using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I applied small Basic Pearls to the centres of the flowers.  I think I missed a couple, but me being me, had to fix immediately as it was annoying me!!!!!!!

Again, no sentiment.  This would be the perfect card for Mother’s Day.

I really love how the flower come out & will be doing more this way.  It gives such a lovely effect to your image.

SC #3…

I found another challenge site on Sunday while I was surfing for some information, completely unrelated to craft or stamping, as you do!

It is only a new site – Retro Sketches – but boy have they got some followers.  The sketch had just been posted & didn’t look too bad, so thought I would attempt it with some new products from SAB.

Measurements –
Base Card – Lucky Limeade – 11 3/4″ x 4 1/8″ or 30cm x 10.5cm
Layer 1 – Very Vanilla – 5 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ or 14cm x 9.5cm
Layer 2 – DSP – 5 1/2″ x 2 5/8″ or 14cm x 6.5cm
Layer 3 – Soft Suede – 2 1/4″ x 2″ or 5.5cm x 5cm
Layer 4 – DSP – 2 1/8″ x 1 7/8″ or 5cm x 4.5cm

I stamped 2 flower images onto the piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock using Pool Party Ink.  Am loving this colour!  The whole piece was run through the Bigshot using Embossing Folder – Square Lattice & adhered to the card.

Envelope & Inside Card…

Prior to adhering the DSP to the Base Card, I adhered a piece of Ribbon down the centre & tucked the ends under.

The small piece of DSP was adhered to the piece of Soft Suede & adhered to the top of the larger piece of DSP with Snail Adhesive.

I stamped the sentiment with Soft Suede Ink, punched out with the Curly Label Punch.  I cut a piece of Pool Party scrap Cardstock with the same punch, cut in half & adhered to the top & bottom of my greeting.  The whole piece was adhered to the smaller piece of DSP using Stampin’ Dimensionals

I tied a bow & adhered to the card with a Mini Glue Dot.

I adhered 2 pearls to the centre of the small flowers.

I am loving these new products & for the life of me don’t know why I haevn’t used them previously.  Maybe, it had something to do with not being too keen on them, but boy has that changed!

DSP – Everyday Enchantment

SC 032/12…

Sunday brings the beginning of a new week & the start of the new challenge over at Sunny Challanges & Creations.  It was my turn to create the sketch & issue the 2nd part of the challenge.  This week, I opted for DSP – Designer Series Paper.  How easy can that be???

Measurements –
Base Card – Cherry Cobbler – 8 1/4″ x 4 1/8″ or 21cm x 15cm –
Scored in middle & folded in half
Layer 1 – DSP – 3″ x 4″ or 10.5cm x 7.5cm
Layer 2 – Island Indigo – 1″ x 4″ or 1.5cm x 10.5cm
Layer 3 – Basic Black – 4″ x 2″ or 10.5cm x 5cm
Layer 4 – DSP – 3 7/8″ x 1 7/8″ or 10cm x 4.5cm
Layer 5 – River Rock – 3 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ or 9cm x 6.5cm
Layer 6 – DSP – 3 3/8″ x 2 3/8″ or 8.5cm  x 6cm
Layer 7 – Island Indigo – 4″ x 2 1/2″ or 10cm x 6.5cm
Layer 8 – Very Vanilla – 3 7/8″ x 2 3/8″ or 9.5cm x 6cm

Using my Eyelet Border Punch, I punched along the side of a scrap piece of Basic Black Cardstock & adhered to the larger piece of DSP prior to adhering to the Base Card – Cherry Cobbler using Snail Adhesive.

Envelope & Inside Card…

I adhered both pieces of DSP to the corresponding Cardstock with Snail AdhesiveDSP Red to the Basic Black & Black DSP to River Rock.  This piece was then adhered to the longer piece of DSP with Snail Adhesive & set aside.

I stamped my image onto Very Vanilla Cardstock with Staz-On Ink.  I meant to do a little embossing, but completely forgot about it until I had assembled my card.  Oh well, next time!  I adhered the stamped piece to both pieces of DSP ensuring that it overlapped.  I didn’t quiet adhere permanently but left a little so that I could tuck the ends of my ribbon under.

The whole section was then adhered to the Base Card.  A bow was tied & adhered to the card with a Mini-Glue Dot.

The greeting was stamped in Staz-On Ink.  Again, the embossing was forgotten.

Supplies –
Stamp Set – Forever Young, A Word for You
Ink – Staz-On Black
Cardstock – Very Vanilla, Island Indigo, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black
DSP – Timeless Portrait
Punches – Eyelet Border
Ribbon – 3/8″ Ruffled – Island Indigo
