Gift Cards

G’day Stampers,

Today’s post is a very short one, but thought I would share with you these cute little 3 x 3 Gift Cards created using the beautiful Stamp Set – Ornamental Pines from the Holiday Catalogue.

These took me all of about 5 minutes to create, but is a great way to use up little bits of scraps that may be hanging around just waiting to be used.

In fact, I created them once I had finished cutting all my kits for this Technique Class which you can see Card # 1 Here & Card # 2 from Monday’s post.

Until next time, Happy Stampin’

Technique Class….

As usual I am a little behind in posting one of the cards we did in our Technique Class a couple of weeks ago.  We focused on “Double Embossing”  If you haven’t played with this technique, make sure you do, as it is a lot of fun & so many possibilities. In this class we concentrated on 2 of the may possibilities.

Today’s cards is the more traditional way of “Double Embossing“.  We also concentrated on Father’s Day.  For those who didn’t want to create a card for Father’s Day, they use “Birthday Wishes” instead.

To create my card I combined a couple of different cards together from Pinterest.

Our Bonus Project was a Wine Label to match the card

I then created a Post-It Note Holder when I got home

This is the set together, including a matching Gift Card

Until next time, when I will show you the 2nd card we created

French Foliage…..

…. one last time!!!!!

Everything in this project is retiring, except for Very Vanilla Cardstock!  I challenged myself to create a project using retiring Inks.  Of course the colours – Riding Hood Red, Bravo Burgundy, More Mustard, Not Quite Navy & River Rock – were the perfect match for the soon to be retired Stamp Set – French Foliage……

Again, the box is something I saw on Pinterest, although much bigger, so I set about adapting it to suit what I wanted & that was a set of 3 x 3 Gift Cards.

I’m really happy with the final result, but more so that I could achieve something using all the retiring Ink Colours & Cardstock – Riding Hood Red plus Ribbon.

Until next time, Happy Stamping!

Something a Little Different…..

I’ve been doing a Handmade Market for the last couple of months.  In fact, I attended the first one that occured & had a great time, that I have decided to go back each month.  It is purely all handmade.  It is growing each time & the talent out there is staggering.

I don’t always sell a lot of the same thing, but what I do sell, I get a lot of feedback saying how lovely my cards, etc are.  It does make you feel good & always appreciate the comments.  I love speaking with people, finding out what they do, where they live, etc.

For those of you who do markets, you are probably aware that “What sells one day, won’t necessarily sell the next.”  “What is popular at one maket is not necessarily going to be popular at the next.”  So far, I have been very happy with the result as I have managed to cover my costs plus a little extra to purchase more supplies.

I thought I would show you some of the Post-It Notes & Gift Cards I created for my first market.  They have proven to be very popular.  I have kept away from the colours I would use to create, but instead decided to go with colours that I would not norally use.  I also like to match the colour with the pen.

To Colour or Not to Colour…

I created this set of fun cards for a birthday for one of my nieces & just as I was about to colour, thought “No, she can do that“.  This way it will be something that she hashelped create for her little friends.  I then made a matching basket to give them a home.  I am also trying to use my stash of DSP & stamps before the new Catalogue comes out!
The cards all measure 4″ x 4″.  They have been stamped directly onto Whisper White Cardstock using Basic Gray Ink.
I cut strips of DSP about 1 1/2″ x 4″, punched the sides with different Border Punches & adhered them to the side of the cards.
For my flowers, I have used ones from my box of goodies, some are SU Flowers, while others are pre-SU!  I adhered Basic Pearls to the centre of the flowers.
The Basket is made from Whisper White Cardstock & covered with the same DSP as I’ve used on the cards.  I attached flowers to the sides & front.  For my handle, I used a piece of DSP, punched a border down both sides & adhered to the sides of the basket.
Supplies –
Stamp Set – Pun Fun
Ink – Basic Gray
Cardstock – Whisper White
DSP – Sweet & Sour Speciality
Punches – Scallop Edge Border, Scallop Trim Border, Eyelet Border, Pinking Hearts Border
Accessories – SU Flowers, Basic Pearls, Adhesive Snail
Non- SU – Flowers
Until next time, Enjoy!
