Inkspirations Challenge #73…

It is amazing what you find when you clean your desk & how bits of left over scraps will come together to make a card, let alone fit a challenge.  This is what I did for the Sketch Challenge over at Inkispirations Challenge  I took the colours from scraps lying on my desk & teamed them with the scraps of DSP.  I don’t feel so guilty of not cleaning my desk!  That is my excuse anyhow.

I was recently asked if I stamped my envelopes to match my cards.  Ever since I started making cards, I had to match the envelopes to my cards.  I know the ladies I used to do cards with, thought it funny & strange, but that was me – has to match.  I also do the inside to match as well.  In future, I will show you both the envelope & inside, along with the card.

Base Card – Crumb Cake– 5 7/8″ x 4 1/4″ or 15cm x 10.5cm
Layer 1 –  Cherry Cobbler – 5 3/4″ x 4″ or 14.5cm x 10cm
Layer 2 – Very Vanilla – 2 1/4″ x 2″ or 6cm x 5cm
Layer 3 – DSP – 2 1/8″ x 1 7/8″ or 5.5cm x 4.5cm
Layer 4 – Soft Suede – 5 3/4″ x 7/8″ or 14.5cm x 1cm

Layer 5 – Early Expresso – 3″ x 2 1/2″ or 8cm x 6.5cm
Layer 6 – Very Vanilla – 2 78″ x 2 1/8″ or 7.5cm x 6cm

I adhered both pieces of DSP to Soft Suede & Very Vanila &  attached to Cherry Cobbler – as per the sketch.  Using Early Expresso & Soft Suede Inks, I stamped the image randomly onto the piece of Very Vanilla, adhered it to the Expresso Expresso, then to the Cherry Cobbler.  This piece was then adhered to the Base Card – Crumb Cake.
Using my Boho Blossoms Punch, I punch 5 flowers in Cherry Cobbler & adhered these randomly to the card.  Basic Pearls were adhered to the middle of each flower.
I used my Cherry Cobbler SU Marker to colour in the greeting, stamped directly onto Very Vanilla & punched out using the Word Window Punch.  I adhered this to the punched piece of Soft Suede which had been punched using my Modern Label.  This was adhered to the card.  I didn’t exactly place it as per the sketch, so I hope the operators will forgive for this.

Box of Notes…

With what started out something compeletely different, I am quite happy with the end result.  Although these little boxes have been around for quiet sometime, I wanted to try something or add something to it.  It gives the box a completely different look, yet still being useful to store your notes for messages.  Actually, now that I have seen the box in a new light, there are tons of ideas going around in my head.

Now that I think of it, the Box of Notes may also qualify for Latenight Stampers Weekly Challenge # 123, which is Making the Grade – showing your appreciation to those teachers who have made a difference in your child’s life, or your own life for that matter.  This is able to be in the form of a card, gift, treat, etc

Accordion Card…

The person I have made this for doesn’t like bling, busy, but just simple & plain, so this is what I come up with.
These cards have been around for sometime, but as usual I didn’t chase any instructions to make mine.  Instead, I did mine to suit the Aust standard envelopes.  To ensure it still fitted into the envelope, I didn’t want to put too much onto the card & bulk it up.
It is my first time at making an “Accordion Card“, so hopefully you will be able to understand my instructions.  I’ve discovered they are very easy to make & a lot of fun embellishing.
Front –
I adhered Real Red Cardstock to the Base Card, applied DSP to the bottom, stamped the image directly onto Very Vanilla Cardstock using my SU Markers.  I then adhered this piece to Daffodil Delight Cardstock before adhering to the base.
Inside 1 –
Left Hand Side – I adhered DSP to Pear Pizzazz Cardstock & stuck this to the base card.  I then stamped the greeting using Real Red Ink onto Very Vanilla Cardstok, adhered it to Chocolate Chip Cardstock & then to the DSP.
Right Hand Side – Prior to adhering the 2 base cards together, I cut an oval out of the Chocolate Chip Cardstock, stamped the image onto Very Vanilla Cardstock using my SU Markers.  I cut a smaller oval of Real Red Cardstock & adhered it to the back of the Chocolate Chip.  I then adhered the Very Vanilla Cardstock to the back of the Real Red Cardstock.  The whole lot was then adhered to the smaller card to form the accordion.  I applied a Basic Pearl to the centre of the flower.  When adhering, ensure that you have your Valley, Fold, Valley.
I punched 4 corners using my Corner Punch – 2 in DSP & 2 in Very Vanilla Cardstock.  These were adhered to the card as per photo.
Inside 2 –
Left Hand Side – I cut a piece of DSP & adhered it to the base card.  Very easy as I didn’t want anything else on this.  I will type & print a verse out to adhere here prior to posting.
Right Hand Side – I punched 2 corners using the Corner Punch – 1 in DSP & 1 in Chocolate Chip Cardstock.  These were adhered to Very Vanilla Cardstock which had been adhered to the Chocolate Chip base.  I punched a strip of Real Red with Border Punch and a strip of DSP using the same punch.  These were adhered to the bottom of the Very Vanilla Cardstock.  I stamped the 3 flower images directly onto the Very Vanilla Cardstock using Real Red Ink.  I applied 3 Basic Peals to the centre of the flowers.
Once folded, I adhered a piece of ribbon to the front, ensuring it wrapped around the whole card & tied a bow at the front.

Medallion…

As I have to make a couple of male birthday cards this month & not having any cards in my stash – haha – this is the prefect sketch to complete a couple of cards.

Gotta love how all the measurements are done for you –

Layer 1  – Cardbase cut at 5.5 x 8.5″, scored & folded
Layer 2 – 4 x 5.25″
Layer 3 – 4 x 1.75″

I’ve used Baja Breeze for my card base, scored & folded
Cut smaller piece of Early Expresso Cardstock
Cut DSP – Pear Pizzazz
Cut Very Vanilla Cardstock
Stamp image directly onto Very Vanilla using Early Expresso Ink
Using your Early Expresso SU Marker, colour in sentiment & stamp directly onto Very Vanilla
Adhere both pieces to the Early Expresso Cardstock
Adhere Ribbon – Pear Pizzazz across the join, tuck ends under & tie knot
Adhere Early Expresso Cardstock to base card – Baja Breeze
